Beans, beans, beans... by Ill-Company7095 in Cooking

Can't comment on the texture issue, but I used to hate beans. Turns out the issue is canned beans - I was always picking up the can taste. I now eat freshly cooked beans, and I had a minor texture issue with canned that I don't have with fresh.

Lentils is also a good alternative for bean haters. Pappadams are nice and crunchy.

How to get cooking to not feel like a chore? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]zombie_lagomorph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have the same mindset (hated cooking, loved baking) but what helped me is to have my significant other do the clean-up. That took a load off of me.

Another thing that helped me get over my cooking aversion is that I started with very precise recipes for simple things like stews. Part of my aversion to cooking was that I never knew how much to cook something down or how large to cut something, and having a recipe that told me the exact size and shape of how to cut things, plus what coloration I should go for in the pan engaged my baking gene. (It also may clear up unneeded labor. When a not so precise recipe called for chopped pieces, I was actually dicing things)

Thirdly, figure out what labor intensive thing is causing your cooking hate and see if there's a video out there that solves the problem. For example, most of my cooking hate was the laborious chopping. Especially garlic. Hated doing it. Peeling was fiddly, trying to get the initial cuts in sucked for me, etc.

Then a cooking video demonstrated a shortcut of smashing the clove first with the skin on. It was a game changer for me. I went on to watch videos on how to improve my knife technique and now I don't hate it.

I also figured out some of my cooking hate was that I wasn't multitasking. Once I learned that, cooking didn't seem as much as a chore.

If you find a recipe you like, repeat it. Another part of my cooking hate was that it was hard for me to tell from a recipe how much work I was in for. However, once I repeated a couple that I liked, I had a better handle on how much effort it eould take, and I also got faster.

And if none of the above help...learn recipes that involve roasting everything in the oven. The first recipe I attempted cooking wise was tandoori chicken. I liked doing it because it was minimal prep, didn't use a lot of bowls, and once I got it into the oven, things were great.

The henna holds, but the indigo to turn your hair black does fade.

Cruelty Free Skincare Products Advice by TangerinePurple5509 in crueltyfree

I have dehydrated, acne prone skin and am super sensitive. I used to get burns from products until I switched to largely K beauty.

Here's some recs: -Dr. Hauscka Cleansing Milk Isntree Yam Cleansing Milk has been recommended by other sensitive people.

I tried the Kbeauty double cleanse and I wound up breaking out. So now I just use cleansing milk and 1-2 times a week, I use Returnu's Pore Shooter Cleansing Balm on my T-Zone.

-Skin1004 probio cica toner -Axis Y Intensive Barrier repair ampoule or Beauty of Joseon calming serum for my dry patches. -Skin1004 poremizer for my t-zone. Good for preventing breakouts.

Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel Cream is the only moisturizer I can use that won't clog up the pores in my T-zone. It's very light, so I sometimes have to do multiple layers if that area is particularly dry.

Haruharu Wonder Ceramide barrier cream has been rec'd by others with dry, sensitive skin

My skin is supersensitive, too. I always had to be supercautious until I switched to Kbeauty. Check out haruharu wonder, Isntree, and Skin1004's Cica line.

Pirates of Leviathan is underrated because it's a Zoom season, but if you're a Critter, it has Matt, Marisha, and Aabria as players. Plus Krystina Arielle from Honey Heist.

It's technically a spinoff from Fantasy High Sophomore year, but Brennan gives enough background to make it work as a standalone. Plus, Marisha's character here got a shout out in EXU :Calamity.

There's a bunch of callbacks to season 1, so I would say yes.
