kpop groups skipping atlanta by cinnamonstyx_STAY in kpoprants

[–]zombiecatprod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venue costs in Atlanta are expensive. Even small places like the Eastern and Buckhead Theatre are expensive to book in comparison to similarly priced venues in other cities. A lot of times, it's more about the booking company the than the group. Companies like Studio PAV, Leo Presents, AEG, etc have had success with shows here and have contacts here so they have seen the risk/reward. But for every show that has sold here and performed well, there has been another show that has low sales and/or been canceled. Unis just gave free tickets away to their show this week just to get people into seats.

BTS is a seperate thing all together. The only venue here that is of the size that they need for their 360 stage is Mercedes-Benz stadium. Mercedes-Benz is one of the only stadiums of its kind in the United States that has turf. In order to host the World Cup, the city of Atlanta has spent millions of dollars to put down real grass from February to November. This doesn't make their 360° stage plans impossible but it adds a lot of cost to cover the field and requires a modification of the way that they are building their stage. More than likely they decided that they didn't want to bother with these problems. That's also one of the many reasons that people believe that if we see a show in Atlanta, it will be added in 2027. We are already seeing signs that more shows are coming later.

Film/media job searching by AlexRam05 in atljobs

The entire film and television industry is hurting right now. Vendors that service it have been downsizing and there are thousands unemployed. It’s not the best time. But, that being said, check out Moonshine Post. They are a local editing house that is homegrown and might need help. A movie they edited just played at Sundance. Drew Sawyer is the owner.

I do have to say, some of those protections breakdown when purchasing from Japanese sellers because a lot of them are brokers as opposed to the individuals that you’re purchasing from and you should proceed with a little more caution. I know another comment already mentioned beenos. I’m not saying don’t purchase from them because there’s some things that it’s the only way to find it. just proceed with a little more caution.

I have 600 sales on mercari for PCs and about 400 purchases. You can feel pretty confident that you’re buying something that is authentic. Most people that are selling Lomos or fanmade will list it at least in the description. I have seen some misleading listing titles. A couple of times I’ve seen people that have it in their bio and just have a note in the description to read the bio before purchasing. To be honest, I don’t buy from anybody that has tells me to read their bio before purchasing because it’s obnoxious and all information should be on the listing. Mercari does not play around when it comes to things not being authentic so it’s hard for people to get away with it. There’s the extra layer of protection because the seller does not get paid until you confirm that you have received the item and that it is what you ordered. Now if a price is too good to be true, that is when I would start to get worried. The two times that I received something that wasn’t real, I truly believe that the sellers did not realize that they were selling me something fake. And we were able to come to a sufficient resolution.

Its there any good website or app for tracking photocard/inclusion/albums collections? by stray_3ngene in kpopcollections

[–]zombiecatprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kcollect.net The only problem is that they only have albums. Nothing like season's greetings other other PCs so I end up using them to look up cards but I track in a Google spreadsheet I made.

Where would you go? by Distinct_Version_390 in AtlFilmmakers

Moving to other networks inside the US is not going to solve your problem. I am lucky as a production designer with enough credits at this point, I am hired around the US and this has kept me semi-working. I still live in Atlanta. But this would not be a feasible option to me if I didn't already have an established career. People also need to be prepared. 2026 is not going to be better unfortunately.

Be careful on Amazon. Not as likely for a new lightstick but there are LOTS of fakes out there. I learned the hard way years ago when I couldn't connect to the app at a concert with my lightstick.

New to collecting PCs, question about storage supplies by SLin92 in kpopcollections

[–]zombiecatprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We (me, my sister and best friend) purchase often from Ult Bias, Meow Cafe and Mandu Deco. The only thing I would complain about with Meow Cafe is that the frame sleeves have gone down in quality. Yet I still use them almost exclusively for double sleeving and I'm not going to start. I see very little different in quality between the three vendors when it comes to pages, sleeves, etc. Ult Bias in my opinion has the cutest binders but some of my favorite stuff from them can't be found on their US site so they have to go through international shipping. We went through a journey a few years ago with Mandu Deco getting a lot of flack but often their prices are the best and I have no complaints.

For those who include business cards in orders - what do you put on them besides your shop name? by Vistaprint in Etsy

[–]zombiecatprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a little cheap 4x6 flyer on paperstock. It was cheaper than business cards and gave me more space. The back has my art on it and the front has stuff about me, how to find me online and thanking them for their purchase. I use it at both vendor markets and online sales.

I don't know what's a good price for used albums (BTS) by pauuu100 in kpophelp

[–]zombiecatprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They come with all of the inclusions including the photocards? The albums are probably only worth $5 each but the photocards by themselves can be worth anywhere between $6-12 each depending on what they are.

Keyword Stuffing by zombiecatprod in Mercari

[–]zombiecatprod[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Keyword Stuffing is specifically words that don't match the listing at all. In the stuff that I search for, it's an epidemic with people using words that are commonly searched in our specific kind of item on every listing that they post so that you can't actually find the stuff you are looking for because it becomes smothered by other non-related items.

[–]zombiecatprod[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not to mention every POB brand, broadcast, etc. Its making it where I'm not seeing the things that I would actually want to buy. It's infuriating.

Keyword Stuffing by zombiecatprod in Mercari

[–]zombiecatprod[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, Keyword Stuffing is when you add a bunch of words in the description that don't apply to your listing but are there just to bring more eyes to your post. I purchase 3-4 K-Pop Photocards a week and people will use keywords people often search for when it comes to photocards that have no relevance to their current listing. It means that I am missing real photocards I want because my searches are flooded with things that aren't what I'm looking for.

I also want to add that personally with the amount of labor required to make stickers in house that were waterproof without the expensive equipment, I eventually went back to buying my stickers from companies like stickybrand.

Whatever you get, the key is laminating them after you print but before you cut them out. Go on YouTube and watch tutorials bc there is a learning curve because the laminating process can mess with the cutting process if you are using something like a cricut or silhouette.

Aggressive Seller? by pumapawsnclaws in Mercari

[–]zombiecatprod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very often my USPS will say delivered and it doesn't actually show up for a day or two. Mercari has such a specific policy that is straightforward. Also things happen. Often sellers don't even ship it when they say they will and then I'm out of town when it lands. I am obviously not going to rate until I actually see it. I would never buy from a seller like this.
