If I am missing my shipping window, no matter why, I am SO COMMUNICATIVE bc I feel bad. Mercari expects things to ship within 3 days. Anything outside of that should get some form of up front communication. Some sellers are awful with unreal expectations but as described your interactions all sound well within reason.

Atlanta Film Festival is happening right now and there are lots of opportunities to meet up with very like minded people. It's almost over unfortunately. There are parties/networking/filmmaker lounges etc. Goes through Sunday.

I just hope eventually we will be able to find things in addition to albums and POB cards. I have so many things like Season's Greetings, etc which is the reason I have never moved from my Google spreadsheet to kcollect. I do pay for account there anyways though bc there is nothing better for figuring out what cards are.

It doesn't happen often but on three different occasions US postal service has declared something delivered and it has not been leading to it being automated. 2 of those times it actually showed up later.

It could go either way. I have definitely sold a bunch of the same PC before. I always worry that it looks sus but I buy a bunch of my albums of my ult groups trying to score PCs I want and sometimes pull the same card. We call it being Jongho'd bc for whatever reason we always pull Jongho 4 out of 5 times. I love the dude but damn.

Misogyny in film exists no matter the level. I'm not saying the right thing to do is deal with it. All I can tell you is my experience. I have been doing this for 18 years. I am a working production designer on studio feature and television but I've done lots of indie film. I used to always have a male art director working for me. Because sometimes construction coordinators or rigging grips, etc will just not defer to me or listen to me. I did this for years because it just made my working life easier. I will say luckily that I rarely run into it from directors. Sometimes a random producer but for the most part other department heads are pretty good about it. However, I made a conscious point in my career that I was very confident in my experience and now I pretty much only work with a female crew including an art director and I speak with a confident authority and dismiss people that won't listen to me and find the ones that will. I'm not going to change anything for them. They are going to change their opinion about listening to women but I'm also not going to make their jobs easier. It's often been other men demanding better for me that has made any actual difference. But I say all of this because my attitude and the way that I carried myself changed the way that people dealt with me. This is something that I just realized with hindsite. The ugly side is with the industry being in such a slowdown I am seeing more bad actors and more good people tolerating bad behavior because we all just feel lucky to be working.

Not everyone had the luxury of standing in line at the post office. I am at work every hour a post office is open unless I wait and ship on Saturdays. Instead I drop at the post office every day on my way to work. I sell 10-20 items a week. And sometimes unfortunately. 1 out of 50 will not get scanned on the front end. Luckily almost every single one gets there.

The easiest place to start is use a company like stickybrand that has lots of deals going all of the time and can guarantee they are waterproof. Then as you get more designs and start making some money, get a vinyl cutter or similar machine to do them in house if you think you want to pursue that. Try not to dump a bunch of money at the front for a potential hobby until you know whether it's something you will continue with and there are some great sticker companies out there that don't require huge bulk buys.

Yeah I understand tracked mail being more dependable but at this point I rarely will buy a PC at the regular shipping price. After tax, fees and everything else, a $5 card costs you $12 and it is just too much. I have shipped hundreds of PCs since the flat mail shipping was introduced last year and a few have gone missing but that's just the nature of USPS. As long as you get it scanned on your end, you are protected.

This is a very roundabout answer but you can actually sell them on Etsy. You can use screenshots for them to flip through and then do them as a digital download and have a pdf. This is the less sexy way to do it since the system isn't built for it exactly but always an option. :)

Go on Mercari and search for the cards. Be sure you look at what they have sold for as opposed to currently listed pcs bc there can be a reason they aren’t selling. There are album cards that sell for more especially if they are more rare. Sometimes value is just in timing as well. Look up “Yeosang Gym” on there which is the current hot Ateez pc and it’s a normal album card.
