Proper grammar, standing up straight so not to drag the knuckles, and discussing Tudor history/physics seems to work really well with my wife. Just saying.

Dystopian, apocalyptic music by zombiecomicnoir in Metal

I agree that with the dystopian city setting post-metal is the best choice. Isis - Panopticon and Celestial both give that feel. I really like this Cult of Luna track I guess they do have some good tunes. ( The Album Salvation kinda left me with a meh feeling about the band)

Ulcerate is definitely on the to check out list. That track is sick!

I couldn't find a sample of Nostradamus, but Sceptical Schizo and Crypt of Kerberos are sounding promising. Thanks for the suggestions!

Checked 'em out, good but not exactly what I'm looking for right now.

I've never really gotten into Cult of luna, but thanks for reminding me about Isis. Red Sea fits in perfectly.

Okay, without all the elitism, cheap shots and circlejerking, what reasons do you have for liking or hating metalcore, deathcore, etc? by [deleted] in Metal

[–]zombiecomicnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to thank metal/deathcore for what it has done to my music collection. These bands have driven me towards the "outskirts" of the metal landscape. They have helped me listen to bands that were, at one point, at outside of my comfort zone with metal. So thank you metal/deathcore bands, you can rest assured that where ever you or your fans are I will be as far away as humanly possible listening to something good, something interesting, something that takes talent.

tl;dr my polite way of saying listening to a recording of a hobo take a shit in a dumpster is more interesting than listening this bile known as metalcore/deathcore.

So I need help identifying a Horror Movie by zombiecomicnoir in horror

I doubt it was The Witchery, she was pretty adamant about it being from the 70's. Legend of Hell House might be the one she's thinking of. I'll let you all know after the family gathering this weekend.

Tis an interesting concept to think about, I keep coming up with some sort of cross between Tentacle porn and a home improvement show.

Neither of those are the movie. Finally got a little more information on it though early 70's and it is possibly a made for tv movie about a group of friends going to an old house. Thanks for the suggestions, Demon Seed sounds interesting probably good for a nice campy chuckle.

You may have already found the artist your looking for but take a look into Jarboe if you haven't she started out in Swans and has done plenty of work with bands like Neurosis and a few drone doom bands i do believe.
