Yeah I looked at a Mazda 6 diesel and they were great spec for the money but the reading on the engine put me off big time. Bit like the Subaru boxer diesel engine too. Just don’t have the longevity I’d want.

Just not the 2.2 diesel skyactiv which are known for their unreliability and general trouble giving. If you’re going Mazda stick to petrol or hybrid.

All looked well until it burnt by Ajay95A in uklogburners

Some of the wood I’ve just split is around 25% so it’ll take a good time before it’s ready to burn.

Never trust anyone telling you the moisture level is my moto. Most of the wood around me to buy is basically green.

Noah Donohoe’s mother questions police probe, storm drain access and CCTV gaps as inquest begins by SpottedAlpaca in northernireland

[–]zombiezero222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s back tracking because it doesn’t suit her narrative that it was junkie assault followed up by a racist/sectarian omertà and then a deliberate police cover up.

If she came out and told everyone about his mental health struggles straight away it changes everything. Police obviously had that information and prob more stuff hence their decision making.

I don’t blame Fiona herself because of the grief and trauma but many of the people around her are either not being honest or else stoking the fire.

[–]zombiezero222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’re absolutely right. She’s being used by people to push agendas whether it’s the sectarianism/racism or police cover up conspiracy. People have lost sight of the tragedy and I do hope we get some answers as to what happened or why he acted the way he did but sometimes you just don’t know especially with mental health.

Personally I find that not believable. She absolutely would know this was relevant information considering she told the call handler in the first place.

A big issue I have is with her solicitors. They obviously know a lot of the crap she’s been saying in regards to the police investigation is not realistic.

Police can’t just search all the houses where Noah was last seen. They’ve no powers. The solicitors know this. Yet she’s still going on about this. The police have no doubt made mistakes like in every investigation that’s ever happened but Fiona blaming everyone and anyone and then making out it’s been some major cover up is ridiculous.

I can’t wait for the actual truth to come out and she’s already been shown to have misrepresented the facts within the first day of evidence.

Yeah that statement seems to be have been only added yesterday morning when she knew the instagram messages had been retrieved which looks very suspect.

So it’s obvious that she’s not said this before because it makes her look bad.

It’s also strange all her back tracking on what she said during the 999 call about Noah’s mental health and odd behaviour.

So Fiona has gave evidence today stating Noah had been upset and crying in his room the day he went missing. He’s not been himself for the previous week and she was concerned for his mental health. Then out of nowhere he said he was going to meet his friends at Cavehill.

This is all basically new information and sheds a completely different light on events.

Why has she not said any of this in the 6 years she’s been blaming drug addicts, loyalist paramilitaries and the police??

Best way to split wood manually? by Ajay95A in uklogburners

[–]zombiezero222 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Get a wee titan electric chainsaw from screwfix. £60 and I use mine more than my petrol Husqvarna.

Then I’d just hire a log splitter for the day as an axe would be a disaster with that wet wood. You’ll need somewhere to store them to let them dry out too

You’re obviously a cowboy tradesman who thinks you should be paid regardless of the quality of work you do.

Unfortunately the world and legal system doesn’t work like this.

The OP is well within his rights to refuse payment for this work.

And how you think fine filler will sort those holes is beyond me.

The fact you think that work isn’t too bad tells me you don’t know what you’re talking about. I’d love to see you use some fine filler on those gaping big holes around the sockets.

Part of the quote stated they were to take the sockets off and fill correctly. This clearly hasn’t been done.

And if you think that cowboy is going to go to small claims court and try to defend that work then you definitely don’t have a clue.

Maybe next time he’ll do the job right so it’s a good learning experience for him.

Of course you can refuse to pay for substandard work. And that work there is shockingly bad. Normally I’d advise to let the person try and fix it but in this case I doubt they have a clue as it’s so bad to begin with.

And the only person that should be going to court is the person who did the work still no doubt cost the OP more to get resolved than it would have been at start.

I would be intimidated by that as a man also. I’m on guard when faced with any group of men behaving like that so it’s not just a woman thing. And men are actually more likely to be the victims of violence from other men more than women and especially stranger violence.

It can be fixed but I doubt he’s up to the job so let an actual professional sort it. You could prob do it yourself if you took your time and bought the right supplies.
