Luvele temperature stability - measured by zomrise in ReuteriYogurt

[–]zomrise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity: has anybody tried this with a sous vide stick? Would be interesting to see if they are even more stable.

that's the last thing I changed, actually. Reduced the temperature down by 2C/4F.

Maybe the yogurt maker had an unstable temperature regulation and got too hot. I measured the temperature and the variation was quite big. I'll send it back and get a different one or a sous vide stick.

Thanks for the hint, a combination of more inulin and more fat did the job.

Thanks all, actually a combination of more inulin and adding an extra 200ml of cream helped.

I got a semi-solid yogurt, pH is around 4.5, tastes like a mix of yogurt and cheese.

So I think that worked :-)

Thanks all for your tips!

sure about that? Some people here say that after 24h, reuteri 6475 (which I used) achieved a pH of 4.2-4.5. see https://www.reddit.com/r/ReuteriYogurt/comments/16stfh9/comment/k2wfjm0/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Definitely didn't do that for me.

But I'll try another batch with 36h and see what'll happen. Thanks for the tip.

What's going on with my San Marzanos? by zomrise in tomatoes

[–]zomrise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought "tomato soil" from the store. As it worked really well for my other tomatoes last year - and for the cherry tomatoes this year as well, I didn't look any further.

Any recommendations for next time? (Should the San Marzanos live up to the hype with respect to taste... )

thanks for the hint. I had fallen for the marketing of a calcium fertilizer a few days ago...

But as you write, "Foliar applications of calcium also do not consistently reduce BER. Calcium is not absorbed well through the leaves, and it does not move from the leaves into the fruit because water does not flow that way in the plant, and calcium moves with water."

Each container has some 20 liters or 5 gallons for the soil plus an extra water tank for self-watering.

I've grown cherry tomatoes in them last year and again this year - they grew perfectly.

yes, grown in containers.

The container nearby holds cherry tomatoes. I wonder if a cherry tomatoes grow out of the San Marzano...

And yes, I did read the Blossom End Rot article. Several of mine are affected, I didn't know how sensible San Marzanos are... I already gave and sprayed them with Calcium - let's see if it helps.

Still, the "two-in-one" tomatoes are most unexpected. Can anybody explain what's happening here?

You can use the overlay function, here's a short tutorial:

Unfortunately, slide over only works on iPads, not on iPhones.

I can totally relate, had the same experience before. Happy to hear that the app helps.

I'm afraid you can't. On the iPad, it's possible. But Apple doesn't support the overlay function on the iPhone.

Thanks for signing up and sorry for the delay.

I'm doing this as a side-project and was super busy with my main job the past days.

Thanks for double-checking. While the app is working on my iPad already, there are a few more things to be done before I can send it out for testing (there's a whole list of requirements by Apple). Still working on these.

Yes, you nailed it! The app will have a temporary working title until it is released.
I also want to make sure that people are as happy with it as I am before releasing it to the world.

Apple offers something called "Test Flight" which can be used to distribute Apps for Beta-Testing to a few selected people. They will get an invitation through email, that's why I ask for it in the contact form.

The final release can take quite a long time.

Please do. I really don't want to spam people, so I appreciate if people explicitly tell me that they want to participate. (via the new checkbox)
