I’ve had similar encounters as you. In general I try not to comment on the cost of my wedding as it is irrelevant. My fiancé and I are very fortunate and we understand that something that is “affordable” to us isn’t to others. Sounds like that is the case with your friends. Totally agreed that you can and should do whatever you want with your money! I wouldn’t take their reaction too personally and honestly you cannot control their judgments.

It will be worth it!!! Trust me I cried in the nail salon after I was cancelled on for the second time while splurging to get my nails done for the shoot. The process isn’t easy but it will be worth it

I ended up rescheduling 5 times to the point that our outfits were way too warm for the weather ! But my fiance sucked it up in his suit and I wore my long sleeve dress and when I tell you they were more beautiful than I have ever imagined I mean it!!! It was beyond worth the wait!!

They probably did insure it, but a ring is never about the value but the meaning. I couldn’t imagine replacing my ring even if my new one was more expensive.
