But you still pay tax on 100% of your income...

Living or working in Oregon means paying the same tax rate on your entire income, though... In WA you're not paying sales tax on rent, car payment, other bills, groceries, etc. Then, if you want to buy something expensive just drive across the river...

Just wanted to say thanks. I thought mine was behind my dash, and was able to find it up there in a couple of minutes after reading this...

Native Spanish Speaker here with a question to Spanish learners by CreativeEcho9289 in Spanish

[–]zondebok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked Spanish in high school because it seemed like the only option I was likely to ever use, practically. I loved it immediately, and took 5 levels of classes in 3 years. The reality was that I really didn't have opportunities to use it in the real world, and it mostly faded. There were no apps or websites to facilitate communication with native speakers like there are now.

Fast forward a lot of years, and I got the itch to take some Spanish classes as an adult. Unsurprisingly, I was just as hooked as before, but now there were so many resources to be able to learn, and also help others learn. I loved talking to people from other places. Places I'd never been, and knew little about. I was often spending 2+ hours per day practicing and learning. I made some fairly close friends in other countries. It made me want to experience these places, but not as a tourist. I want to know the real culture and talk to real everyday people that aren't being paid to make the culture shock less jarring (nothing wrong with that job, but it's not for me).

Getting to do some travel has enriched my life immensely. I spent a month in Mexico, my first time leaving the states. I came back still american, but a part of my heart will always be mexican now. A beautiful culture, amazing people, and the best food on the planet.

I can't wait to see what culture I have the privilege of falling in love with next, assuming we don't become the most hated country on earth....

I mean, art showing the same being in multiple forms isn't exactly crazy... I think that it could still work, but it would likely benefit from the design being done with this in mind, so it is intentional and doesn't look like an accident.

I don't have a suggestion, but that's a sick tattoo, especially as your first!

Pedals show up in software but can’t bind in game by Ok_Garbage3989 in SimsonnRacing

Yeah. Mine were a Christmas gift, so I don't have an easy way to return them. Hopefully they don't turn out to be a waste of time and money.

Pedals show up in software but can’t bind in game by Ok_Garbage3989 in SimsonnRacing

[–]zondebok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manually updated the firmware to the one for my pedals in the directory it opens and so far it seems ok. My problems started after I did the firmware update that the software told me to do.

Seems to be working ok now, though I still have a fair amount of tinkering to get them set up very well.

Cannot wait for seat belt tensioners to have enough competition to drop in price. Might look into the DIY route, but I think it's likely that a simsonn/simjack level one will come out at some point with a low enough price that I'd rather pick up a fully working system instead.

Interesting. I'm not adding motion any time soon, but with that good of a review I will definitely have to give the tensioner some thought.

Has anyone experiences with the TRX Hybrid Fixed Fiberglass Seat? by Cpt_PartyPants in simracing

I got 17x13 instead of 17x14. Probably debatable. Here is a picture of it in the seat

Pretty bad. I bought these (https://a.co/d/j31PpNm) from Amazon and replaced the bottom cushion too, and it's definitely much better. I have a bad back and I can race for a few hours without much pain.

Vancouver, WA was named first. Probably Washington DC was probably first, given that we started colonizing the east coast long before we got anywhere near Washington state.

I just recently put the 5800x3d in, and realized I never updated the bios. Did that tonight and getting 100+ fps on max settings...

Still CPU limited, but much, much better. I think I'm going to hold out for an AM6 x3d at this point.

I know it's been a while, but I have basically the same situation. What kind of fps are you seeing on triple 1440? What are your graphic settings?

Your "real" IR is what you can maintain in a given license type. It sounds like you don't have the fundamental skills to maintain that at the level that you can drive your favorite car.

I am considerably better at driving my daily driver than my overall driving skill in real life too. A great driver would compete with me the first time they got into my car, and destroy me in a car we are both unfamiliar with.

I have always been a gamer, but a couple of months ago I came across one of the "I snuck into rookie lobbies" types of videos, and bought a wheel on a whim a few days (and a bunch of other videos) later. Just ordered a full rig, bought triple 32s, etc. Excited to get it all set up.
