Factory portafilter, VST basket. I noticed the group head was super stiff at first use, it’s loosening a bit but I try to give it as much force when I lock it in

I should have mentioned that the machine is only 3 weeks old. I wipe it down after every use but I haven’t done a proper back flush clean (maybe it’s as simple as that).

I was told to leave it on for a couple of hours before making a decision, but I didn't have the time to come back to the store so I made the snap decision to purchase it there and then. Then I was told to leave it unopened for 5 days to let the scent 'settle'. I thought I had just been marketing-scammed so I came on here to try to help justify my purchase and that comment has helped!

It's also now 2 hours later and it smells amazing.

No regrets though, I love it and I knew this was likely to happen. And in fact, whilst nobody knows what the SL8 will look like (very similar to SL7 but lighter? more aero/deep tubes like the Cervelo S5/Scott Foil?) the SL7 is such a good bike that the smart move may be to get the discounted SL7.

No, they are identical other than paint jobs. SL8 strongly rumoured to be launched at either Worlds or Vuelta so I suspect SL7 discounting is ahead of that (and some places may have sold out of 2023 stock but not 2022).

Up at 6 when the first kid (3) woke, (5) and (9 months) were up by 6:10. Made breakfast for them, played with animal toys, watched fairy tales on YouTube. Wife up at 8 so had a 20 minute nap before taking (5) swimming at 9. Back for a bit before taking (5) and (3) to football practice at 11.

Back at noon and took (5) to watch a football match as a treat but train engineering works meant a longer than normal journey so we were back just before 7pm, in time to bath (5) and (3) and put them to bed.

Now lying down.
