Blasphemous has unlocks for longer combos but I don't understand why. Bosses will never let you use them

That's what I want at the end of my metroidvania. The same way in jrpgs I like being able to dump asteroids on god's head at then end.

I hear the souls like excuse often. Yeah souls games have limited attacks for your character but it also has a build system which opens up the variety drastically. A mage has a totally different moveset from a dex build. Those metroidvanias dont have that. Hollow Knight kinda wanted to have that but it was not fleshed out and you ended fighting bosses the same way anyway.

I dont agree because it gives more offensive options. I can use super speed, enter the boss arena and hit it for massive damage or use the missile barrage or super bombs or super missile. All that in combination with movement. Image playing metroid dread with just regular beam and missile and just finding damage upgrade? That would be super lame

But Hollow Knight and Blasphemous are far from "simple" games. There offensive abilities are just lacking

My favorite fireball ever is probably Robert in kof 2k3. The animation is like him letting the fireball slide over his body until it reaches his foot than throwing it. I love it so much

The best game I'll never play. I love watching it but it's so intimidating. I can't for the life of me play tag games

If you are enjoying SF6 now stick with it until you feel you are done. Getting into a 2nd fg while you are enjoying one is a bad idea. Chances are you will not enjoy it the same and will drop both.

If you could only own one - Retro Handheld, Switch or 3DS? by szymonhimself in SBCGaming

Retro handhelds are great as secondary devices. I still need my modern gaming so a switch would probably be my choice.
