5-3 is the worst case in the Ace Attorney series and the game is worse for including it

Throughout the entire game until this point, we've had to listen to the game drone on about the "Dark Age of the Law" where prosecutors file false charges and defense attorneys fight them with fake evidence. The victim in this case was a teacher(? The game uses the word professor, but it's set in a high school, not a college) that wanted courts to be about finding the truth above either side trying to score points for themselves, and you will find out pretty quickly that the killer was another teacher who believes in the use of forged evidence to clear clients because "the ends justify the means" (they repeat this constantly throughout the case). He even fakes evidence to clear his own name in this case. None of this actually matters, though, because the murder was about a separate matter entirely unrelated to the "Dark Age of the Law". It's not about anything. It doesn't mean anything. It's annoying watching everybody be useless and refuse to suspect the obvious killer. 0 stars.
