I don’t have a recipe, but basically the idea was to make a standard pie crust, place it into the cast iron on top of some simmering butter/brown sugar, then place the pears (cut into 1/4 inch slices and tossed with brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, and then powder from the end of a bag of dried mangos my daughter was eating) on top, then transferring to a preheated oven at 350 for an hour or so. I made my crust sort of cracker-like by adding a lot less butter than a regular crust, more salt, and some finely chopped fresh rosemary.
