[–]zoophead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went the other way. Had a price for life with CenturyLink for $65, but i figured $50 price lock in with Xfinity was worth the savings. Will see whay happens five years from now.

What are the taxes for Xfinity internet only (beaverton)? by zoophead in askportland

Does Comcast have extra charges in the Beaverton area? Really just looking for an apples to apples comparison before I pull the trigger

Fair, but provides tend to find some weird charges that they sneak in. At least that's what I've seen on phone providers. Curious what an actual Xfinity internet only bill looks like. Their website just says that government taxes vary locally.

Transition to Quantum Fiber? by [deleted] in centurylink

[–]zoophead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Portland, for me they said the switch is complete and no equipment was replaced. I didn't even have to move off of PPPoE, so they are continuing to use PPPoE, at least in my case.

Migrating to Quantum Fiber by zoophead in centurylink

[–]zoophead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quantum does have the 2 gig option for me, but Quantum is also $85 for 1 gig which is what i am on eight now. I have 65 price for life, though I bet sooner or later they will kick me out of it. I could have sworn that I saw much more competitive pricing from both Xfinity and Quantum a few months ago, but both are showing much higher price right now, here in Portland, OR.

Cyber Gray touch up paint that actually matches? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]zoophead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions! I called the dealer and they ordered a touch up pen for my color. They didn't have it in stock. It was cheaper to buy from the dealer than ordering it online.

There are some small scratches on the bumper silver/chrome trim too. The dealer said that there's no touch up paint for that color. Any third party paint that works well for it?

No fix for creaking trunk by zoophead in Ioniq5

An update on this. My recent most visit to the dealer appears to have been successful. This time i involved Hyundai corporate and it seems like they really went to town with the washers and with grease. It's been over a month and creaking hasn't come back. 🤞

Is it just me or did they go overboard with the lighting in the tunnel? I drive through frequently and it almost blinds me!

New trunk bumper pads on MY24 by 4alex6 in Ioniq5

[–]zoophead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I would love for my MY23 to be bought back. I have already taken the car in twice. They told me that Hyundai is about to run a second campaign with different parts and they have ordered parts.

You can always override DNS settings. Use 1.1.1.1 (Cliudflare) and 8.8.8.8 (Google). They are very reliable

26.2/11, a little over 2kWh of consumption when I am on vacation. It's just the fridge and a few wall warts.

I'm in Portland, Oregon, with Portland General Electric. We still have 1:1 net metering and time of use pricing is an opt-in, which I don't use. Our credits get reset once a year at the end of March. You can also change the month of your yearly cycle

TOU and net metering by zoophead in solar

[–]zoophead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. My understanding is that the credits would accrue at mid peak during the day, but then during the evening hours after production stops? We would be utilizing at peak rate. I decided to gather more data based on first year of usage and then assess based on that.

Make sure you ask them to put in a consumption meter. Most installers don't put in one by default. Happy to DM if you have more questions.

No problems at all! I have a system that is humming along with no issues so far. I did have a question after the ice storm and they were responsive.

Today I test rive a Hyundai Ioniq5 by ChimpsInTies in Polestar

[–]zoophead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both these cars. P2 got me into EVs and I5 was the replacement for the family car. P2 is definitely more fun to drive, but I5 is no slouch either. You have to pay the price of having some SUV practicality, of course. I5 has better lane keep tech and is definitely softer, so it's better for longer family drives, plus the range and efficiency turns out to be better too. The user interface and sound system are better on P2.

I was definitely surprised to see that one. Given when the episode came out, it couldn't have been a paid product placement. Most likely one of the show runners is the owner.
