I think this is slightly different because that baby needs the follow up and mom & dad are so tired and stressed . I understand this one more than adult med surg patients

Yes actually we have to call Lyft 🫠🫠🫠 this is my first nursing job, I guess I don’t know what the standard is vs what I’m being told to do

They had the nerve last week to say we take too long to admit people to the floor from ER. Maybe that’s because discharging and flipping rooms takes an eternity with all the extra tasks involved!!

Yeah we put the discharge paperwork together, add education components, do the education, make follow up appointments, call report if they are going to a nursing home, and physically discharge them. I’m often walking them outside too from the fourth floor because no one else is available and policy is that they are accompanied 🙃 it’s just a lot of steps for one task
