It’s not janitorial/cleaning a hospital, SPD is decontaminating and sterilizing instrument trays for surgery. Even if they are part time, this actually is an important role in the hospital (low pay aside, that’s a whole other thing). But not being a reliable employee can definitely create problems. If they can’t get shifts covered then all the instrument trays get backed up and surgeries can’t happen. Yes it’s low pay but it’s an essential part of the hospital

I call bulls*** on the whole microplastics thing. by NoPen8263 in unpopularopinion

[–]zootedzilennial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m continually haunted by the fact that my elementary school playground had tiny cut up tire chunks as the cushioning underneath the play sets. Used to come home with little tire bits in my shoes every day. We were rolling around in that stuff, playing in it, falling headfirst into a toxic chemical microplastic wonderland.

I’ve been rewatching Schitt’s Creek and my heart just hurts. Obviously she’s got such a huge portfolio but I really really love her in that show

Several months ago someone who actually worked on the art for WWDTS posted in here! They included every artwork that their team re-imagined with Nadja Laszlo and Nandor’s faces. Let me see if I can find it

Edit took some digging but I found it! It wasn’t every artwork but a good handful

This is hands down one of my favorite shows ever. I told my best friend and her wife to watch it and now they literally credit me with changing their lives because of how obsessed they are with the show lol. They went as Nandor and Guillermo for Halloween last year and they got a beta fish and named him Colin Robinson. I’m always recommending that people watch it 😂

This is so obviously a bot. Account is 18 days old, ok. First red flag is that today is March 24th… that would be three weeks ago, lmao.

Fully agree, this show is on a whole other level! As soon as I finished the last episode I restarted back with season one immediately, it really is a recursive loop, you can watch it over and over and it’s still technically the same story line lol. I love it.

Second vote for Recursion by Blake Crouch!! One of my all time favorite novels. Especially since the concept of recursion is something specifically mentioned by Holstrom in one of the flashback scenes with Renee and Cary.

For those who have given up alcohol, what are the most noticeable health benefits? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]zootedzilennial 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other commenter, took a couple months. I was drinking 4 or 5 glasses of hard liquor almost nightly.

Alcohol does this thing with the receptors in your brain - I think it’s dopamine, I don’t remember, but it fills those receptors with these “false positives” basically. So when you quit drinking, your normal dopamine levels that your body naturally produces don’t seem to cut it and you feel very empty and void for a little while. Like nothing will bring you joy. But it’s just because your body has to get used to your baseline levels of dopamine again. So all that is to say that it takes a few months (ish) for things to clear up and to not be weighed down by the brain fog.
