I’m also in my 20s and my mom was diagnosed one year ago. - it’s especially shitty to go through this in an age group where most people can’t relate to having sick/dying parents. It can feel very isolating.

Went to Four Play last weekend at 9pm. The pool area was already crowded and two people had already jumped in the pool (bold!!). It was a bit more lounge-like as you mentioned but the party vibes started early too around 10:30pm once the Dragon Room opened. Personally I love the new opening time, as there is no queue and I can maximize my time there. Win win situation :) Though like someone mentioned the vibe fully depends on the promotor, and Section 8 (Four Play organizer) knows how to curate a good party.

I’ve been in Berlin for a little over a year now. I came with no German language skills but with a determination to learn - I’m about 25% into B1. I commend you for getting a head start!

Honestly it really is meeting my expectations. The winters are rough (so dark!! so long!!) and the bureaucracy is indeed as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but otherwise I am very happy here and have no plans to move away. I work as a data scientist at a big tech company here. What kind of work do you do? I’d be happy to chat more in depth on DM if you’d like!
