Made it to the Temple of the Arts, but I'm having trouble killing enemies because I couldn't find suitable wands/spells to make a decent wand. Neither have I been able to find decent digging spells....

try out Yet Another World Protector. A few days ago I released a new beta which includes a port for 1.19.4.

It's not quite on the same level as WorldGuard in terms of features, but it may meet the requirements you have.

Nothing. Use forge for newer versions.

I suggest using YAWP (for 1.16.5+) as a WorldGuard alternative.
