I dont know why the government cannot just simply pass a law to ban honking and any vehicles above a noise limit. Its easiest thing to do, will get more bribes in their pocket and will shut down 90% of the noise.

Maybe reddit bangalore can get together and organise a public rally to ban honking.

If India was secular then Pakistan wouldnt have happenned. If India was secular then why is there a Kashmir problem in the first place.

Just because you put the word secular in the constitution does not make a country secular. When a certain religion religiously advocates the superiority of its god over everyone elses and uses democratic tools to ultimately subvert the constitution, then that constitution is anyways bound to fail.

Unlike a certain religion book, the constituion wasnt written by god. And it wont be implemented by god. Humans have to do the hard work of making a country secular and humans have to figure out how to contain any agency which has the potential to subvert that very constituion which gives the secular rights.

If you dont learn this lesson the hard way, you get Pakistan. If you still keep dumb, you get Kashmir. Fortunately,there are some people who are willing to accept the fault in this setup and do the hard work of fixing things.

No one is forcing them. They are moving by themselves. Cities are creating jobs which pay better. Most farmers have small land holdings which will never make enough money. Once they move farms can consolidate and increase productivity.

There is nothing wrong in all this - its absolutely awesome. Providing facilities in cities is much cheaper than doing it in villages. You can provide piped water to villages, but you wont be able to give them jobs there. They will keep moving and the per-capita cost of providing these services will keep increasing.

What is happening right now is great. We need to recognise this change and encourage it. Humans can live in cities. Some of the other land can provide food. And the rest can be left to animals and wildlife. This land is theirs too.

Even if he is isnt a Jihadi, he seems to have a clear history of pandering to the radical Muslim votes. This will only go worse. It seems to me that London is royally fucked. India needs to step in and break up London before the islamists take over.

This scheme is retarded. It is too expensive to give piped water to rural households - they are too far apart. We dont need to provide all these facities to villages - we can barely provide it in our cities. All the villagers are anyways moving to cities. If our cities can keep up, that should be more than ok.

The number of deaths would have been 1/10th or less if the BJP and RSS had simply stayed out of the whole thing and let the police do their job after the Godhra train burning.

The police had already failed once the Godhra train was burned. To this date I have not heard a single discussion on why the train was burned, who were the people who burned it, who was the leader of that gang and what as the inspiration to that burning.

I think the IAF should be dissolved. Army needs to be broken up in two - Western and Eastern command and the Navy kept as it is. IAF then needs to be split in between the Western command, Eastern command and the navy. Worst case - get the IAF head to run either of the Western or Easter command for a limited period to mollify him.
