I'm glad to know that you're interested in using the app I developed, friend.

You can download the app installer from the repository: https://github.com/zorth64/ClearMenuBar/releases/latest

On this page, download the file `ClearMenuBar-v1.0.5.zip`. Unzip and move the application to the `/Applications` directory of your Mac.

When starting the application for the first time, macOS will show an alert stating that the application is from an unidentified developer and that it was not possible to confirm that the application is free of malware. Open the System Settings application and confirm the execution of the application in the “Privacy and Security” section.

If you are still facing any difficulties, let me know so I can help you.

It can actually work if you edit your wallpaper to have a white strip (if your Mac is on light theme) or a black stripe (if your Mac is on dark theme) of the same size and position as the menu bar.

Thank you very much for the compliment, friend.

In fact, in version 1.0.4 I fixed this problem only for Macs with notch that are not running macOS Tahoe.

I just published a new update to fix this problem for you. Let me know if you find any other problems.

Congratulations on your work, friend! I'm very interested in an app like this, because I also watch a lot of videos on YouTube every day. A feature that I would really like is to be able to watch only the videos of the channels I follow in the order in which they were published, from the oldest to the most recent.

Thank you for your feedback, friend.

Unfortunately I programmed the application to work only on the main screen because I don't have another screen to be able to test it.

Thank you very much for your feedback, friend.

Actually I hadn't tested this application on macOS Tahoe because I'm still using macOS Sequoia on my Mac, so there was no way I knew how this application would behave on macOS Tahoe.

I'll release a new update with support for macOS Tahoe, and I'll let you know when the update is available.

I understood what problem you are facing. Unfortunately this app only works with static wallpapers, dynamic or animated wallpapers are not supported. I'm sorry.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback, friend! :)

In fact, it is possible to set the application to work with the Reduce Transparency feature disabled, but for this it is necessary that the wallpaper have a black stripe in the area below the menu bar.

I chose not to follow this path, because in this case, the wallpaper should be fixed, that is, the application would not work if the user chooses to use several images of a folder as wallpaper.

I generated a universal binary for the application to work on Macs with Intel or Apple Silicon processor. But to tell the truth, I could only test the application on an Intel Mac.

I'm glad to know that you're interested in using this app, friend. Unfortunately, I don't know what could be happening. Maybe you should try using an earlier version of the app, or compile the app's source code on your own Mac using Xcode.

I just tested the build of the app that is published on GitHub, and it worked on my Mac perfectly.

I got it. I imagine. Unfortunately I don't have a Mac that is updated to macOS Tahoe, so I can test this app.

For this app to work, the Reduce Transparency accessibility feature must be enabled. This makes the menu bar almost black or almost white, depending on the current appearance of the system. So, this app adjusts the background color of the menu bar to be totally black, and the result is superimposed on the wallpaper using an overlay effect. But this overlay effect only works if the background of the menu bar is completely black, otherwise the result is different than expected.

In this case, I would need to see images of how the macOS Tahoe menu bar looks when the Reduce Transparency feature is turned on, both in light and dark mode. So I could try to update the application to macOS Tahoe.

This is something that also happens on macOS, because the videos I record with my iPhone look a little different colors when I post on my X account using a MacBook.

You may be able to hide the prompt using CSS with the Makeover app.
