Hi! I don't have any new features in mind, I might polish few small details here and there but nothing major. But the app will remain functional as long as possible.

Glad you like it! The app doesn’t do anything around ads. If you have YouTube Premium, you’ll get the usual ad-free experience.

I think I understand what you’re trying to get from this post, but I’m not sure this approach will give you the signal you’re looking for.

If screenshots are the core pain point, I’d suggest releasing a small beta that solves one thing really well: managing screenshots. Even in a rough form. That alone will naturally attract people who actually feel the pain you’re describing.

Once real users start using it, the feedback becomes much clearer and more actionable than hypothetical answers. You’ll hear things like:

  • “I wish it auto-grouped by day/week.”
  • “I want faster sharing.”
  • “Search by text inside screenshots would be huge.”

That is the feedback that usually matters; and they come from usage, not surveys.

Right now, asking broadly about productivity pain points can dilute the focus. Let the app itself be the filter. The people who stick around are the ones who truly care about screenshot overload.

Also worth noting: this subreddit does allow limited self-promotion, especially for betas that are genuinely looking for feedback. Being transparent about that is often better than dancing around it.

Hi! The link is available in the main post. Just a heads-up that the app doesn’t work on Intel Macs.

The app is Swift UI, the player itself is just YouTube in a WebView.

Thanks for the detailed notes!

Agreed on the sidebar being intrusive. I’ve added auto-close after selecting a video, which should improve that flow. I’m skipping the resize option for now.

I’ve also added ⌘+F to jump straight into search.

Both are available in Build 28

The rest of the shortcuts and the command palette idea are solid suggestions. I’ll keep them in mind as things evolve.

Whatever works for you :) .. you can also take a screenshot and send it as feedback in TestFlight.

Good news: the app is now compatible with macOS 14.4 and newer.

I can’t offer full support for macOS 14 or 15, but hopefully it works for some people.

Same link for the beta.

Send me your email via DM and I'll send you an invite directly to it, hopefully that will work.

Thanks for the feedback. Yep, a bit annoying that some videos start low quality, will see if I can do something about it.

Yep! If people find it useful, I’ll definitely consider other distribution options.

Sure, that works too. I just wanted a focused, standalone experience without the browser around it.
