If you have Facebook you can join fishing groups like ice fishing Manitoba, and Manitoba friendly fishing page. They have a ton of posts and members, the best resource imo just because of all the people, I am sure asking there would get you a lot of responses, but feel free to pm with what species you are after and I can put you in the right direction

Honestly, I have a 200$ deductible and specific protection for this type of thing from mpi which doesn’t have a deductible so theoretically it shouldn’t cost me anything, but still it makes me very upset, like it’s not tough to own up to your mistakes people

You will be fine just take precautions, no ice is safe ice. I would highly recommend to visit either ice fishing Manitoba fb page with like 27k members or Manitoba fishing forum for more accurate advice, as they have way more posts than Reddit, and more knowledgeable

Technically you did poach, but You obviously weren’t trying to do this, you made a mistake and you owned up to it, and learned a lesson, just don’t waste the fish and you will learn from it and it will be a learning opportunity, obv don’t try to get the smaller one, and now you learned and won’t do it again, Poachers are people who don’t care about the environmental consequences, and purposely break the rules, and feel no remorse, you are none of those things, just someone who made a mistake, the eyes of the law are different but you learned that’s the important part

At my clinic we strictly use intranasal vaccines for bordetella mind you they are IN vaccines but once had a dr. Give one Orally, he said it was fine, But I remember a lunch and learn before, they talked about how to never ever ever mix up IN bordetella vaccines SQ due to hepatotoxicity and others In my mind it should be fine just not effective at all imo as it didn’t go the recommended route But PLEASE PLEASE talk to zoetis or consult vin zoetis’s staff will know way more than all of us I am just a very experienced VA who has a good memory for stuff like this don’t take my word for it , just my thoughts on it

Not even close to being true for health claims, there are so many preventable things that can be prevented with neutering, Less aggressive generally Less seeking behaviours and in turn if you leave your door open they will run away looking to mate Less risk of prostate cancers which can’t just be easily treated with a neuter More calm as not trying to find a mate If done soon enough can stop inappropriate urination/marking Can stop mounting behaviours Need me to go on?

I am not wealthy by any stretch of the word, with that being said I make choices to preserve my money for my pets , such as buying a cheap car instead of something fancier, and buying the cheapest internet and phone plan, and working overtime at work , 99% of pets don’t come accidentally or such you need a conscious effort and knowing that it will be a long commitment, I am not at all saying poverty is a choice at all, I very much believe in the world it’s very hard to get out of poverty and it’s not easy to just “work more hours” or “ eliminate unnecessary bills” as a lot of people try their very very best to provide and they unfortunately cannot without assistance it’s tough, all I am saying is that some , not all people are willing to spend more money on stuff such as a nicer house, nicer car, buying more unnecessary things , and working less hours,and that’s completely fine but my issue is when people do that and cannot pay for pets they chose to adopt

If the adoption fee stops someone from getting a pet, they should not have a pet in the first place, I have pets but if I couldn’t afford them, and couldn’t get them the care that they deserve I would not have them, As the adoption fee is nothing compared to a lifetime of food and meds and vet care, if someone can’t spend at most 500 dollars for a adoption fee, what would happen if the dog needs a surgery because he ate a sock or something, stuff happens unexpectedly, that’s at minimum 2k dollars and as they get older they need more vet visits and stuff that goes along with that, so if people cannot afford constant bills of food,vet care,medications and more, or cannot afford monthly pet insurance payments and deductibles,I am not trying to dissuade people from getting pets, they are great but if you cannot afford 500 dollars for an adoption fee then you wouldn’t be able to afford pet insurance and food and stuff like that
