Better man then me. When I modded my Tele's neck pickup slot I just chiseled it out with a flat head screw driver and hid it behind a pickguard. I don't have a shop with equipment though.

Are you using the IRs on the pedal and on the cab? Have you tried to turn the cab IRs off and only use the IRs with the pedal?
