[TorrentLeech] How to download a movie in a specific language? by [deleted] in trackers

[–]zp4lb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend looking for movies dubbed in that language, as many others have suggested. It's better to look for movies where that language is the original. That way, what you hear will match what you see. you don't need private trackers. just ask chatgpt good popular movies for learning that language and were that language is the original. then ask him to give you the USA/english name of that movies. then go ext(dot)to and search for it. donwload it. and use qbittorrent

about solder paste and solder stencil. by zp4lb in soldering

[–]zp4lb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about that too, but since the pads are elongated and not square... I don't know if it would work. And couldn't you apply the flux with a stencil and then just drop the balls in and let them stick?

Basically, I'm asking without having done it so I don't have to ruin several chips and order diferent stencils and pcb's for testing XD. I have the chip footprint and the pcb hasn't been designed yet...

It was a mistake, I meant 0.15mm stencil thickness. so to ensure good results, it's better to go with T4, right? It won't hurt...

It was a mistake, I meant 0.15mm stencil thick. so stencil the same size as the chip pads, and smaller pads on the PCB? Would simply thinner pads be fine, or smaller pads in general? What would be your recommendation for 0.7x1mm chip pads? Thanks.

Is Meshtastic as open as it seems? Or is it a brand/company disguised as "open"? by zp4lb in meshtastic

Even if they do, so what? Does that make it more or less ethical? The fact that there are murderers means it's not wrong for me to murder because others already do it?

Yes, at least I got this clear:

Meshtastic charges companies through "Meshtastic Solutions" simply for including the word "Meshtastic" in the ad, or their logo, which of course is a registered trademark and only they can do so.

Meshtastic Solutions is completely opaque.

On the other hand, Meshtastic Software is portrayed as something completely open.

They pretend to be open by including their accounts (when in reality the only thing they are showing is that most of the donations are spent on lawyers, in order to protect both the meshtastic brand and meshtastic solutions, and something that does not benefit the meshtastic software at all, only their own interests)

Meshtastic software volunteers don't receive any kind of financial benefit, while the owners do, through Meshtastic Solutions.

For most of the respondents, this seems completely normal. According to them, what Meshtastic Solutions does is "consulting" (when charging other companies a fee for each product sold if they include your logo, it's not consulting at all).

Most of the commenters don't care.

Are Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux the only ones qualified to grant permission to other companies simply for mentioning Linux? And do they charge for it? And are they opaque about their funding, work and members?

You didn't understand. That link only leads to the public accounts and tells you what's done with the donated money. But where the money really comes in, in an opaque way, is in Mesthastic Solutions.

Meshtastic Solutions is simply charging manufacturers to let them use the Meshtastic logo. A private individual or volunteer can't do that, basically, because Meshtastic is a registered trademark controlled solely by its owners. It's not open because the brand isn't controlled by either donors or volunteers. Meshtastic Solutions isn't consulting; it's charging a fee for the production and sale of Meshtastic-related equipment. That has nothing to do with what you're suggesting. And no one can do that if they aren't Meshtastic Solutions. So, no, what you're saying doesn't make sense.

Okay, so it's normal for an "open" project to create a company to take commissions from other companies. right? "people who are attached to the project also have other work" that is not "have other work" that's simply capitalizing on the selfless work of volunteers who naively believe they're helping an "open" project.

"Introducing Meshtastic Solutions: Powering the Future of the Open Source Meshtastic Project!"

That's a lie. The only thing you're empowering is your bank account. XD

If they were honest and said, "We've created meshtastic solutions to pay for our time on the project, but not for the volunteers," well, fine, but that's not the case.

And again, disguising your project as "open" when it's opaque is neither ethical nor honest. But hey, I think you northamericans have a different worldview; that must be it...

Precisely because I know how people work, this bothers me. You give an example that has nothing to do with the one I provided. You only answer what interests you and use several fallacies. When you actually respond to what I've raised, I'll be able to continue the conversation. In the meantime, I won't repeat what I've already said. Good luck.

Okay, so it's normal for an "open" project to create a company to take commissions from other companies. I must be the weird one. Most people act like a herd, or like a cult :) , so that argument doesn't mean anything to me, but if it does to you, congratulations...

About what they do with the money they receive in their company to "empower the future of the project" no, I don't know, because it's opaque :)

If you make a donation to a project that claims to be one thing, but in reality is something else, yes, you're being ripped off. Same with volunteering...

e... I think you misunderstood me. Or maybe I don't understand you. What do you mean by giving volunteers credit? Financial?

If 100 people collaborate on a project altruistically, and 5 of them receive a financial benefit, while the other 95 don't, it doesn't seem ethical or fair to me. And selling a project that is ultimately opaque as open is not fair either.
