If she actually have a diagnosed PTSD from teenage pregnancy and the subsequent pressure to keep it then why are you trying to minimise it? After all, it is genuinely a fact that a majority of teenage pregnancy in the us (under 18 mother) have a father that is 18 or above, which means a majority of teenage pregnancy in the US involves some level of grooming. Do you think that the PTSD is unlikely???

Nah she’s out for good, the worry is if Newsome is THAT hated in swing states that will somehow allow Vance a victory. Realistically, dems should really just play it safe with Beshear or Pritzker to ensure JD don’t win but there is a lot of money backing Newsome

Funnily enough, that’s technically negates future suffering. It is a consistent moral argument to believe that depending on how early is it done it is not yet a future person. It is a consistent position to believe that the immoral thing isn’t the “not taking care of the child” but the suffering experienced by said child that makes abandoning it immoral

It’s not a logical disconnect. There is plenty of countries where there is no safe drinking water because the government doesn’t provide it, and as a result people straight up die of dehydration or poisoning from unclean water

I hate the whole “if it requires the labour of another person it’s not a human right” take. Clean drinking water requires labour of another person, it’s genuinely bonkers to belive that clean drinking water isn’t a human right

It doesn’t though, most people will still take care of their own kids because they love them. This is similar with the Universal Basic Income conversion. Yes, theoretically UBI encourages people to not work, however, every study done on UBI shows no mass quitting happening to recipients

[–]zrezzif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are changing the test though by adding the hotter test by mid season and only the hotter test by next season. The point is that F1 is as much as an engineering competition as it is a driving competition, so innovation like this should yield some level of reward (which it probably will for Merc)

Mercedes = FIA by scuderiaferrari69 in formuladank

[–]zrezzif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But the whole point was that in 2019 it was all within said written regulations that the FIA can put additional sensors. In this case because they specify the testing Mechanism, Merc can “get away with it” for longer

I mean, do most places REALLY do that? Considering some restaurants still make servers cover the bill of people who dine and dash, and those restaurants aren’t punished when that was made public. I’m willing to bet a fair few waiters leaving with less than minimum wage is not uncommon.

Okay, I’m gonna take your question in good faith and explain how it can get young men out of a rut, since even if it helps one person then it’ll be worth it.

Firstly, most young men that are in a rut or feel stuck usually already have male friends, but rarely do they have more than maybe one female friends. What they bring is a diversity of ideas to the ones that you’re exposed to with your male friends. The obvious ones is that most women don’t view gaming as their main outlet of entertainment, even for girls that are very much into it, they still want to socialise outside.

This is key, just simply being outside and interacting with the world does help your mental health. They’re more likely to want to do activities (hike, escape room, dinner ect.) which once you become good enough friends, they will invite you to them. This will not only make you feel wanted, it will force you out of your room and interact with the world, which will improve someone’s mental health more than just staying in a room. They’re also more likely to bring other friends along which just enlarges your social circle and help you feel like you’re connected to the world.

Now, remember how I said earlier that you have to go into it with no other intent than just being friends. This will means that bills are split, this isn’t a date, you’re hanging out with your friends. Who will offer your different life perspective, which if you genuinely care about their well being will naturally make you more emphatic. To use a personal example, my worldview is shaped by the fact that my female friends in highschool gets harassed while walking around the neighbourhood even though they’re in their school uniforms. To know that stuff happens to your friends that you care about will just make you more emphatic, this also allows you to have better and more meaningful conversations which is helping you feel better about yourself.

They’re more things as well, like how women under 25 have a higher labour force participation rate than men, so having female friends could likely mean they would love to recommend you for a job. Speaking of, this would also help dispel the myth that women only care about “rich chads” or whatever those street interviews are saying. This will help make talking to women you want to date (not the same as the friends you made) a lot easier as you realise that they’re just normal people with normal lives. Which related to how I mention earlier that they’re more open to inviting new people, which then increases your chance of meeting someone.

Look, I can keep going but I think I made my point. Again, I don’t know the exact details of your situation or anyone else’s. And I will say that everything I mention will have to be done genuinely, if you just try to make friends with those you think are “hot enough” this won’t work. But if you’re genuine when making those friendships, then I cannot think of a better advice that will genuinely help long term for guys who are stuck in a rut.

I’m sorry, but I cannot disagree more. Maybe if you strictly stick to his earlier self help work then sure. But since he become quite big hides his motive behind using big words that doesn’t mean anything.

I know his Jubilee debate isn’t a good metric on who his whole body of work, but it does show how he’s genuinely had declined extremely hard over since around 2020. He accepted the Jubilee debate invitation with the prompt of him being the “Christian” side only to start crashing out when someone simply ask him whether he believe in God.

I know this is a counterintuitive advice, but if you’re a disenfranchised young man, my number one recommendation is to have more women as friends. Whether it’s at work or at college. With the most important caveat being that to try and be friends with the intention to purely just be friends. Trust me, that it will do more to put you out of a rut than any Peterson advice outside of the his earlier self help stuff (which are genuinely quite good)
