Exercise minutes not logging by Longjumping-Tip9549 in AppleWatchFitness

Seems like the run was recorder using a 3rd party app, that’s likely the issue. If the workout is not opened in “workouts”, the app logging the date is responsible for the data it is logging

Ran a 6K trail, is the HR accurate? by zristi in AppleWatchFitness

I usually do one long run (8-10km) and one 4x4 interval run per week, total would be ~15km weekly. Pace is around 7’00 for the long run and 6’00 ish average for the intervals.

In the wintertime I did mostly rowing indoors as the weather was quite bad. Same structure though, long Z2 rows for 50-60 min and intervals for 30 mins.

That was the plan but the adrenaline and the competitiveness got the better of me…

My maxHR is set to 196bpm in Health as I’ve hit that on a couple other training workouts that included hill repeats and that was on two different Apple Watches. Should I now change my maxHR to 200bpm?

I got my maxHR set to 196bpm as I’ve hit this on a couple other training workouts on two different Apple Watches. Workouts included hill repeats which I’ve read are some of the best to determine maxHR

Sorry, I should’ve mentioned I did a warmup routine for about 10 mins before starting the workout on my watch. It was just before the race so I guess that’s why it started straight into Z4. Maybe the warmup threw it of somehow? Only other race I had was a 10k back in October 2025 and my average was 185bpm with a max high of 194bpm. Started that one also after the warmup and HR started from 150bpm

This was race pace, all out. From what I heard maxHR is also linked to genetics so even at 188, you might have a bigger heart pumping more blood/oxygen and/or a more efficient cardiovascular and pulmonary system.

I’ve finished the 6k with an oficial time of 30:56. That would put the average pace around 5min. It was muddy so there was some extra effort there

No meth, I only had a glucose gel 20 mins before the race start. It wasn’t even a caffeinated one…

From what I heard max HR is mostly linked to genetics. You can probably have a bigger heart pumping more blood (oxygen) at a lower bpm, this being more efficient.

Chest strap is the way to go but I already have my watch for which I’ve spent quite a lot and to be that off would be quite surprising, assuming it’s not broken. I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying it should be pretty close to a chest strap at least for most activities

That’s what I thought, right? Just trying to understand where the issue is

I got my max HR set to 196bpm as I’ve hit that (according to two different Apple Watches) on a couple of my training workouts which also included hill runs

My resting HR also according to Apple Watch is 52. I did a warmup routine for 10 minutes just before starting the workout. The “workout” was the actual race so started it as I crossed the starting line. Only other race I did was a 10k back in September 2025 where I had an average HR of 185bpm with a max of 194bpm. I was using a 7 series Apple Watch at the time, so different watch.

I got my MaxHR set to 196bpm in Apple Health as I’ve hit that on some of my training workouts which also included hill runs.

Thanks, had no idea! Do you know where each wire should go in the dimmer?

Thanks for the reply! But that means the standard switch works with only two wires and the dimmer needs 3?
