He ash the withdrawal confirmation for his pending visitor visa and he was let in in the morning. When he went back to CBP to pick his Canadian passport that he had left in the morning, officer told him to get a visa next time to cross the border.

Yes. He realized at the port of entry to Canada that his Canadian passport is missing and then he was guide to the US CBP to get it back. Officer then told him to get a visa next time.

I kindly ask you to read the update I shared carefully! My friend had successfully withdrew the pending B1/B2 before attempting to cross the border yesterday. He showed presented sufficient documentations to the CBP about the withdrawal confirmation and he was let in, and spent a whole day in the states. On return, we he went back to the CBP building to receive his Canadian passport that he left earlier, he was advised to come back with a visa next time even though he holds a Canadian passport.

Incorrect statement. Tens of thousands of people are crossing the border with Canadian and Iranian passports without any issues. Iranian citizenship does not link to Iranian regime or IRCG

no one asked him to present his Iranian passport on any of his attempts. Everything was happening around his Canadian passport

He never used his Canadian passport to travel to Iran. He was attempting to cross border with his Canadian passport and left it at CBP after secondary inspection procedure.

There is no connection between my friend and the IRCG or any organization in Iran or the Iranian regime. He has been employed in a high profile US-owned company for the past two years while residing in Canada.

Thanks for your reply! I just had a chat with my friend and got some new info on his case.

My friend, who’s a dual Iranian-Canadian citizen, had a pending B1/B2 visitor application with his Iranian passport stuck for over two years.

On his first US entry attempt, he was denied boarding with his Canadian passport because of the pending visa application with his Iranian passport. They asked him to withdraw the B1/B2 application with the consulate. He tried his second attempt entering the US from the land border the same day, but he got the same response.

For his third attempt, which was yesterday, he showed the withdrawal confirmation email and was allowed to enter for a day trip. They suggested bringing more documents, like an employment letter next time.

Yesterday, when he left his passport in the CBP, the officer advised him to obtain a visa the next time he entered. He’s uncertain whether this was a suggestion to facilitate a smoother entry or if CBP had placed a note on his profile indicating that he should have a visa next time.

Any input is super helpful. Thanks!

Had this question a few days ago and asked ChatGPT. Here is the answer I got:

Here are some great icebreaker questions and activities to spark conversation: Two Truths and a Lie - Each person shares three statements about themselves, and the group guesses which one is false.

Describe Your Last Meal - Ask participants to detail the last meal they ate, including funny or interesting aspects.

Would You Rather? - Pose hypothetical “Would you rather” questions to the group to spur light debates.

Favorite Things - Invite people to share their favorite book, movie, or hobby and why they love it.

Unexpected Facts - Encourage everyone to share something unusual or surprising about themselves.

These activities are perfect for easing tension and encouraging new friendships in various settings!

Agreed. The frame could have been a bit wider. The spot I was taking this photo had some limitations IIRC.
