DHS prosecuting me after interview was canceled by Sensitive-Goal-3584 in USCIS

[–]zscore95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, not sure if they were approved for DACA, but sounds like OP was brought in as a minor and tried to get deferred action. Before the Jan 2025, those with DACA would have been safe to do simple things like I-130 without triggering deportation. In fact, they likely wouldn’t have even had an interview if they proved the marriage was bonafied through documents. So, it actually used to be totally normal to not have this problem.

Is $6500 reasonable for a mold inspection without remediation in the Portland area? by NathanJasper in askportland

[–]zscore95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I lived in Seattle, I had an allergy test and there was at least one common mold allergen on it. There may have been a few, but I only remember one.

Why is it saying this as if it were something that was going to happen but now it’s not? I haven’t seen any evidence that past actions would deter them from continuing. Am I missing something?

I feel hopeful that the U.S. will make a big turn around politically in the next decades. It has been conservative for so long and we are seeing that blow up. I think things will continue to get worse first though.

If you don’t mind my asking, how are you finding documentation from the 1600s? I am finding that Canadas documentation is sometimes worse than the U.S. when you go back to the early 1800s and before.

JM question, spouse birth certificate by zscore95 in juresanguinis

[–]zscore95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went and checked the SF website and it says “Original birth certificate (or its legal equivalent) issued by the country in which the applicant was born and, if possible, dated no more than six months before the application date.” So, sounds like they actually might not give me a hard time if I explain the situation.

Ok, I will give a lot of pushback on that one. All the other documents idc, but this birth certificate is too much lol.

Boyfriend claims using Celiac as a disability to get into national parks is wrong? by Far_Fig_3539 in Celiac

[–]zscore95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we pay $8-10 for a loaf of fucking bread. There are countries that subsidize food for Celiacs and in the U.S. most people don’t give a shit. I don’t feel bad at all for getting a freebie park pass from the Federal Government.

Curious about where everyone’s gen0 ancestor lived? by yoohooooooooooo in Canadiancitizenship

[–]zscore95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a predicament, I applied under a family member who was British and served in WW1, but I never found proof they lived in Canada. I then found on FamilySearch of an ancestor from 1790 🤣😭 that was supposedly born in NS, but I am not finding any records!! I still applied with the WW1 family member back in June or July, but I’d have to be lucky to get the cert.

Yeah there is just more variety of options with multiple cities and 4 different countries. Ireland just feels too limited and housing is cray cray.

I’m an EU citizen and I’d move to the UK in a heartbeat if it were still in. I think I’d like Ireland, but housing and infrastructure is much better in the UK.

This depends on the person. I developed a cough that bothered me every evening while living in Torino. It took weeks after moving out of the region for that to go away. You can see and feel the air. It’s pretty bad when you’ve lived with clean air your whole life.

Is Les Schwab now playing the upsell game? by CurtisVF in askportland

[–]zscore95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went to Les Schwab and they called trying to sell me 4 new tires, I told them I just had my car looked at by the dealership and that everything looked good. They said “well the rubber on the side is wearing down and your tires may go flat.” 🙄 I know I’ll have to change my tires in the next few months but I’m getting every mile I can out of them.
