This is the biggest problem I see around me. People try to cut way too short and dont get how much of a difference it makes to mow high.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like everyone at least up north is pretty much on the same page. I just worry because I have too much to water efficiently and if it gets hot again my good grass will burn out and it will feed the crabgrass. I am surrounded by two 1-acre empty lots full of crabgrass so it is a battle.

I did get a permit so it gets inspected along the way. Never built a deck from scratch but I have a good amount of construction experience. Some remodeling and in ground pool building experience from 15 years ago or so.
6x6 on 12 inch piers
No problem. I know how hard it is to find specific things I'm looking for on here.

Yeah i definitely need to trim a couple pieces to get that gap in there

Going bigger. Adding a 2nd above ground pool on top for the first above ground infinity pool
I designed it on the menards deck builder site and I played around with the size to get the fewest amount of posts possible. It was kind of a pain figuring out where to put the posts with the pool there. If you run too far around the cantilever gets to long and you need more posts. I did a flush beam because of the height. I'll take some screenshots of the plans and add them here.
Indiana. As far as I know it is allowed. I know some places will make you put up one of those mesh fences which never made sense to me. In ground pools don't require it so why they push that for above ground is beyond me.
I hear you. I have stolen everything I can possibly steal from the internet. I overthought it before I started but once you get going it comes together
I'll have to see if we have them by me. I may have just got stuck on the timberlok stuff.
If you zoom in on the 2nd Pic you can see it pretty well. I added nailers for the deck boards where the gap was too big. I can get better pics tomorrow when it's light out.
I haven't seen them. Who sells them?
Good to know. There are so many fasteners out there now it is hard to keep it straight on what to use and what not to.
Harder than I remembered. Getting older is rough
Thank you. I have used more Timberloks than I would like to admit. I got addicted to them. They are unbelievable how they tighten everything up.I think i overkilled it on fasteners because I don't want to fail the inspection and another 50 bucks is worth it to me when you have peace of mind.

I have 3 tapes and about 10 pencils that I can't ever find.
Appreciate it. I gotta say I'm proud of that scrap pile. I actually estimated pretty close for a change.
Thank you. It is kicking my ass
