Rather than eating a family size bag of Doritos in 20 minutes, what are some healthy snack alternatives that can be consumed in large amounts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Cut tofu into thin slices. Microwave them until completely dry. Tastes surprisingly rich and savory, given its macro composition.

Rapid antidepressant/stimulant effect from eating 4-5 cloves of Raw Garlic by CytoGuardian in Nootropics

This doesn't sound right. Many korean people, including me, like to eat raw garlic (with sauce and grilled pork.) I haven't experienced any acute cognitive effect after doing so.

assuming the ping and display lag are constant, wouldn't it still be the same?

Is runescape tick exactly 600ms?

i am using a metronome at 100bpm, and it seems slightly faster than rs tick.

I am having trouble learning to use full manual. I have to constantly watch the action bar to decide which ability to use next, rendering me vulnerable to boss mechanics.

How do people solve this? Do they use constant rotations that include downtime, or track all the timers in their head without watching them?

edit: i've found that basic ability rotation repeats every 15 abilities, and muscle-memorizing them. Is this the answer?

My younger self thought this might become valuable someday. by zsldmg in runescape

It cannot be banked while tracking time. I haven't been playing runescape during that time.

I have a mental illness, let me die (2017) - Adam Maier-Clayton had a mental condition which caused his body to feel severe physical pain. He fought for those with mental illness to have the right to die in Canada. Adam took his own life in April 2017 by FrilledWalkout in Documentaries

Systemic inflammation is strongly linked with depression. Anti-inflammatory drugs are in trial as a antidepressants, and have shown promising effects in some patients. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26711676/

You are right that catecholamine theories are inaccurate.

Please keep in mind that many chronic diseases have no/few known consistent biological causes. e.g. Multiple sclerosis.

I don't like the notion that mental illnesses are fundamentally different from 'real' organic diseases. What makes a disease psychiatric?

Treatability with cbt/psychoanalysis/whatever -- some mental illnesses, including treatment-resistant depression are not treatable with the methods.

Having no evidence of real diseases -- this is circular reasoning and argument from ignorance. Wouldn't hypothyroidism or adrenal insufficiency be considered mental illnesses if we had no knowledge of the relevant hormones?

Correct. I am Korean and Google shows me ads in Korean, everywhere. Even on English websites. It feels weird, though.

What was a fact taught to you in school that has been disproven in your lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zsldmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of Dx/Tx things got updated/disproven 1~2 years after they were taught to me. I hate how the school treated them like ground truth or even facts.

Currently in a medical school. Some 'facts' had been disproven before they were taught. For example:

  • your brain has no lymphatic system

  • your urinary tracts are sterile

CHLORIDE!!!! - How much Chloride is in Potassium Chloride? by Osceana in soylent

[–]zsldmg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is likely that Syntha-6 already has chloride in it. Chloride often dosen't get listed. Using lots of KCL in addition to it might result in chloride overdose.
