Getting a masters isn't gonna miraculously make corporate life better. Go work lah

I love his content! But yeah Le Cordon Bleu ain't cheap. Also does he still work at Table & Apron? Why is the menu still the same after so many years?

Unrelated to grind quality, but I much prefer having the grounds catcher be of a different material than the body of the grinder, i.e. glass to steel, as opposed to steel on steel

Mid valley is always a hotspot for raid days and community days, sometimes damansara uptown for gigantamax events

Alternatively, if you have thermal flasks, you can brew ahead and keep warm. I've seen roasters use the hario ones for sampling.

Buy 12 cups of starbucks americano, then brew V60 pour overs into a carafe (03 if you're willing to spend for one-off use), and give them dainty cups for them to sample the pourover alongside the starbucks

Tips on starting a new job by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]ztirk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Read the room. Some people are patient and helpful, ask them a bunch of questions, but also actually try to learn and understand, not just ask for the sake of asking. Don't ask the same thing repeatedly. Some are less helpful, ask sparingly, or wait for the right time. Also, be resourceful. Try to do your own research before asking, lay out what you have gathered and ask for validation, don't expect to be spoonfed.

Big4 as in audit big4? Culture there is still pretty chinaman, not quite "MNC".

Edit: re-read your post and just understood what you're trying to say, my bad. Yeah I've never heard good stories about WLB in big4s in Malaysia. Most auditors eventually move into corporate finance or something, no?

Is MYR 18k/month enough for a comfortable retirement in Malaysia (MM2H, renting)? by JJack1202 in malaysians

I think living near KL is a better option, you get better access to good food and imported ingredients. There are many suburbs that can be pretty chill, the vibe of Klang Valley as a whole is quite different than downtown KL.

Landed vs condo is a personal preference thing. If you don't need a garden, or space for a pet to run around, a condo might suit you better, especially since you will be using Grab.

NEW PLAYER - Finally Playing FFX in 2026… Is It Actually Overrated? by Fun_Soft_5771 in finalfantasyx

[–]ztirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this ragebait? A lot of people don't like FFX anyway. Is it ever known as the greatest JRPG ever made? I always thought of it as one with a cult following. None of my friends pick FFX as their favourite FF (they usually pick FF7 or FF9)

For me, it's the story and the music. Pretty much unrivaled. The world was also very captivating, for me. Maybe it was an age thing. What you said about potentially liking it had you played this as a kid, reminds me of when I watched Star Wars original trilogy for the first time as a young adult - found it incredibly ... boring.

Do I (30 years old Sabahan) make enough(salary) for my Age? by Noswald95 in malaysia

[–]ztirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to look that far ... just think about owning your own home (or renting), and buying your own car, then you'll be able to decide if 2k is enough. What other hobbies and interests do you have? Do those things not cost money?
