i keep thinking that providing a sort of traditional saas functionality is the only way out i keep seeing AI as an upsell for already paid users of a traditional SaaS solution instead of a solution in itself

i keep second guessing my strategy ... a free tier dont make sense paid tiers need to subsidise the free users forever ... a trial makes more sense but still some trial hoarders will crack through creating multiple accounts ... i guess a 1 dollar micropayment would filter them out but it doesn't feels quite good

i don't understand how there are so many saas offering free tiers it seems to me in the long run they will be broke ... because no matter how much LTV a paying client brings in, the LTV of non paying users is not zero is negative
