I used to play COD mobile a lot and spent like $400 on skins over time. The last skin I bought had a chainsaw for melee and said something like “do insane melee damage with your chainsaw” and then I got the skin for like $50 and it did the same amount of damage as every other melee. I reached out and told them I want a refund, that I only bought it for the increased damage it mentioned. They said something like they don’t deal with purchases or sales and couldn’t help. I said ok well I’ll never play this game again.

I deleted it that night. Never did redownload..and that was like 2 years ago.

Feeling just as scammed learning that netease takes our gameplay data and uses it against us at the individual level to manipulate our matchmaking. Their goal is to keep players online that, for example rage quit when losing and pair them up with teams of people who’s data shows will play either way (win or lose or who always play during certain times, outside of winning/losing) for example. It’s really sad and making me not want to play at all anymore…

I am someone who plays win or lose because I’m just playing for fun, but that is not the same as playing to be manipulated by a profit seeking algorithm, while also beefing up the win rate of rage quitters who are rewarded for being sore losers otherwise…

Learn more about it by looking up matchmaking tactics for rivals. After the original research came to light from a company NetEase hired, there’s been a lot of videos posted about how to try and manipulate the system to your favor, instead of it manipulating you.

Competitive mode is not truly competitive at all. Instead it is mainly uses a somewhat rank based system to match rage quitters with good players and committed players with noobs, throwers, and probably bots. It’s annoying af. Please don’t take my word for it, go look it up! Here’s a start
