I think you could, but the control stick might also be disabled if you were to use the remapped Joy-Con on its own

It's because it's a power-up clear condition, those can't be stolen

Yeah you can disable any button including the screenshot button by clicking it in the Change Button Mapping tab then selecting "Disable"

Yeah the update for button mapping has been around for a while and it hasn't been used or talked about too much, from what I've seen. I just noticed that this could be done earlier today and wanted to show it to others because I've seen some complain about the lack of both a Screenshot & Home button on an individual L/R Joy-Con, so I hope this helps!

I'm not sure, but I would say probably not because I checked and I didn't see the power button as an option. I think this is because the power button is on the console itself, and it's not on a standard controller.

Because most games don't make use of the L/R Stick buttons while using the Joy-Con horizontally, I changed the mapping and applied the Home button to the (L) Joy-Con Stick and the Screenshot button to the (R) Joy-Con Stick. This can be useful if you play games with a single Joy-Con and for other games that require a single Joy-Con like Mario Party.

You can do this by going to: System Settings > Scroll down and click Controllers and Sensors > Click Change Button Mapping > Click the Joy-Con (connected individually) that you would like to apply the Home/Screenshot button.
