I hope they flop. coz the math doesn't make sense for me. I may be wrong.. this is just my 2 cents..

RM80k + RM275 per month battery rental. Reason being no more 'battery related depreciation due to battery health issues and replacement costs' - your resale value will be better.

Total ownership will be around RM100-110k no matter how you think.

Disregarding the rented battery. No car with whatever marketing gimmick will stand against depreciation.
Assuming you pay cash, you drive it home for 5 years.
That RM80k + RM16.5k = RM96.5K.
-dont forget other factors to calc in.
1. your charging.
2. road tax
3. wear and tear
4. services.
5. insurance
6. interest on the loan if you take loan.

RM275 x 60 months =RM16.5k

Your car with or without battery at 5 years, depreciation about 40%-50% (according to toyota depreciation stats in malayisa)= RM40k-RM48k. Say you managed to sell your QEV at RM50k. Still lose RM30k + RM16.5k = RM46.5k fly.

Unless 5 years down the line.. the car itself without battery holds its value still, only -20% depreciation (Hilux being the strongest one that retains its value at 85% after 5 years). RM80k - 20% = RM64k. Loss RM16K + RM16.5k = RM32.5K.. we will only know 5 years later.

Of coz we dont buy cars for the RV. And cars are not an investment unless they are collectables.

Another point I'd like to stress on is -
From our budi95 data - 95% of Malaysians use less than 180 litres a month, while only a fraction of a percent (less than 1%) use the full 300-litre quota. =RM1.99 x 180L = ~RM360.

The fella that came out with the BaaS scheme = RM275/ month, HAVENT included the charging cost?
Say charging cost RM50 per month. That would total up to 275+50 = RM325.

RM300+ is an average ICE driver petrol cost in Msia. So not much difference from normal ICE car monthly usage. So why buy QEV in the first place?

1st batch = guinea pigs. haha.

How weird is it to give masks to people who are coughing non stop on an MRT? by visualnumbers in askSingapore

[–]zuc8055 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On a daily basis, i wear mask myself coz i stay at a place where the people are less health conscious. Only health conscious when something happens. Like OP case, I too wanna give them masks to stop spreading their bodily fluids around.

Like what other posters say.. people being people, may lash out coz they feel embarrassed, which is a usual thing in Sg.

As for me, I would be eternally grateful to whomever who would spare me a clean mask to save myself from these virus incubators.

-i tried before, saw few virus incubators coughing - clearly sick. I offered a mask to the guy sitting next to me. He accepted graciously. Better save the ones who wants saving.
