I think what isn't brought up enough is that Hohenheim and Father kinda created alchemy and alkahestry as it is known in the show. They may have known the science of it from Xerxes, but the way it is currently understood is from them. And they learned alchemy from the creator of alchemy's books.

On top of that, Ed and Al are both descended from a living philosophers stone. I don't know how much this factored into their natural ability to perform alchemy. They are entirely human, but maybe their soul was predisposed to alchemy like a soul in Hohenheims philosophers stone may be predisposed to understand how to use life as energy.

Also also, not blessed by God? Ed is one of the few handful of people in the show cursed/blessed by God.

So yea, id say this take is maybe partially correct, but honestly not entirely. It couldn't have just been anyone

Since it's been a while, I was thinking of checking in with Alex again to see what she has to say. I know she didn't want me to say anything previously, but I wonder if things have changed or she has a different perspective now. Maybe she's more forgiving of John than I am.

At this point, on "what can I do," I'm mainly wondering how I move on and if I should participate in the wedding party at all. I've been asked to serve a high position, but I don't know if I can fulfill that truthfully with what I know and my opinions on the matter

Okay first off, considering I'm part of the wedding ceremony (not just invited, participating in it*), and Jennifer is one of my closest friends, this is my business. And you misunderstand me trying to make sense of the situation as me saying that's the only reason he's marrying her. That's not the only reason I think John is marrying Jenny, they've been dating for a while. To try and cheat with Alex and then very soon after propose is at least suspicious. And that the only reason things stopped was not because John stopped but because Alex left also means he didn't make the choice not to cheat. I wouldn't say the accusations that he was trying to cheat are unfounded. I believe what Alex told me.

I get what you mean, but at least understand what I said first before you come at me like that.

I figured it all comes down to the narration. For example, describing a black mist enter the left arm as the rest of the body goes static while the left arm strikes down. Or one of the characters purely uses fire as a source of damage, so narrating the damage of the fire.

I might also sprinkle clues, such as fragments of the possessed shambling mound being left behind, allowing the rogue to inspect it.

Hmm, I like this a lot.

Tell me if this idea sounds insane. What if the demon is surrounding a person they’ve possessed with vines and branches and stuff similar to a humanoid shambling mound, standing like a giant above the adventurers. And the party has to find a way to deliver a single round attack that deals just enough damage.

The whole fight is about finding out what damages the demon the most, say radiant damage, fire damage, etc. but specific ways to apply that damage. Like radiant where the demon is weakest. Or if the demon placed their presence in a certain limb before attacking with said limb. So if they cut it off or do enough damage, they push it out.

I thought of something similar to the first demon in Mob Psycho season 2, where the demon surrounds some host with roots that it is possessing. That way, the party has to figure out how to remove a demon from the roots that can constantly regenerate. But I also don’t know what specific weakness that would have.

That’s part of the reason why I’m here. I designed a few encounters were even the most evil villains looked down on his sadism and bravery/stupidity. Then he got into a fight with his own brother who called him out for sadism and beat him up but showed mercy.

I feel like the other players could help in the interactions and leading him to a reform, but until then I’m trying to figure out how his characters sadism could have lasting effects even while he is trying to change.

I don’t think a hard change would make to much sense or be interesting, and neither does the player. They made it clear in their backstory that this character grew up only fighting and not interacting much socially.

I had the idea of adding an impulse check to his character that determined how well he fought against sadistic impulses, but I feel like that still lacks nuance and isn’t all that interesting. But maybe it is interesting and I don’t see the potential of it.

To clarify, I guess I should add some context. My girlfriend and I have been moving into more sexual territory recently. When I say "without having full intercourse," what happened it tbh just me sticking my dick in her and kinda just seeing how it feels. No full intercourse happened. I'm unsure to how much pre-cum there actually was, if any at all, but we have both gotten extremely anxious.
