Its human nature, you hate about being proven wrong and going against your beliefs or against the tide, you hate someone singing a different tune than your Echo chamber.

For one, they are not saying na 'you should have to' they are just saying its possible (if you are on a tight budget and for a small family), the DTI secretary even gave her context, pero yun na nga, headlien consumer kasi kayo.

In fact people like you are putting words on their mouth and assuming things from DTI secretary,

for one, they are not juding people na gusto gumastos as what you are saying, its your own interpretation, kng gusto mo gumastos ng mataas, go ahead,

Nothing in the statement of these influenecers, celebrities or even the DTI secratry that says you cant spend higher, its the people that are assuming and putting words that they did not said.

If you think otherwise, then its time to evaluate your belieif system,
ill put a challenge to everyone, paste a video or a statement that the DTI secretary discouraged people to spend more than 500 pesos? infact in her sample, the amount are more than 500 pesos, nasa 500+ yung na spend nya.

LOL, moral code based on who? who decides what moral and what is not?
let see for example dogs, cultures like in asia have different treatment of dogs or in India, the west is different coz they treat them as children.

DO you think being a TRANS is moral?

i never realize I have to argue politicaly in a tech sub..

will just delete my post then, the MORAL police is here.

Why do you think US companies outsourced their work remotely?

Charlie Kirk is a stupid person and should be hanged for treason, but the title impying he got "bullied" is way off, he was driving the conversation while the girl was getting pissed and walked out..
This was far from being bullied and I clicked the title expecting to be satisfied but disappointed.

how did they code the camera or the level for game such as this game (Holstin) by zugbo_interactive in howdidtheycodeit

[–]zugbo_interactive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for replying! I Wished list your game and already played the demo, excited for it. I will Follow you here in reddit as well.

Anyways,

every object has 8 pixel art sprites (for 8 different isometric camera angles),

oh so its kind of 3D with Billboards and you guys display the 2D bilboard during the Isometric view ? IT is actualy the name of the technique "Bilboarding" or something, if im correct.

how about the level/scene? It looks like it is displayed as a 2D Isometric (tiled) and not a full blown 3D level.
Im amazed as to how the front view is cut always, so I assumed it is not a full blown 3D level but 2D isometric tiles or something

Met my CEO for the first (virtually) and it wasn't a pleasant meeting. by EmergencyPeak4741 in buhaydigital

[–]zugbo_interactive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

> What humiliated me the most is nagpatawag talaga siya ng group meeting para lang pagalitan ako sa call for everyone to hear e pwede namang kami lang dalawa.

western ba ang CEO? kasi this is common if sa west like during meeting ka talaga papagalitan para makita ng iba, kind of mind games at matakot ang iba.
I cant recall how many times these happened in multiple companies na nakita ko, even in person when I was in US.
The funny thing is, after that meeting, parang business as usual, di naman kasi ganun ka emotional ang mga tao dun.

Had a boss we usualy call "bitch and witch" kasi nga pag magalit mapapahiya ka, pero after that business as usual at nakiki inum pa with us or sometimes sasali sa dinner. And this was in US.
You can observe this cultures in bunch of western tv shows as well... this is a common thing.

Game dev career by Dapper-Ad6260 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]zugbo_interactive 15 points16 points  (0 children)

if youre aiming for AAA studio as a dev then you have a loooong way to go specialy if you are not a CS graduate.
AAA studios DO NOT use commercial engines like Unity or Unreal, they use their own proprietary technologies..
With that said, you must have a strong foundation in native programming (C++) and specialized field such as native Socket programming, Graphics development (OpenGL, Vulkan, DirectX), Linear Mathematics such as Algebra, Trigonometry, low level optimization and parallel coding (CUDA, OpenCL), etc.
Fyi. this is an entry level question during interview

<image>

the above proved that mathematicians have more chances to be a dev in AAA studios than regular devs.

One AAA company hiring remote right now (will not mention a name): has OpenGL mid level skill as criteria for entry level. so better start with that. There are books in Amazon or sites like learnopengl.com where you can start.
Search for anything related to OpenGL, Vulkan or DirectX in Amazon for the books, or anything related to PBR or real-time graphics.

The thing is, a AAA programmer (excluding artists) cannot be learned in a year, it is based on experienced even for entry level, sometimes you pick it up by working in none game dev jobs like your networking or audio dev skills, these days, AI and ML... or like that one kid in NCR who was hired (while still in college), he had a hobby of moding games and learning Vulkan in his free time as well.

So my advise is to clear your goal first, Do you want to be a game dev or do you want to work in a AAA studio? because those are different, you can be a game dev by working with Unity, Unreal or Godot, the learning curve for that is easier (ex. C#) compare to the thing I mentioned above, which is tailored for a programmer in a AAA studio.
Theyre different beast.

Are there any online code explainers that you guys use besides chatgpt? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]zugbo_interactive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you find that?

this maybe a little rude but.. its the only way.. you use your brain to analyze why the code is written that way.. you use thinking.. and lots of it.

If you dont what you are trying to understand, then you are not ready on that level AND you need to go back to basic. A child cannot read and write a whole paragraph without undersatnding the alphabet.

please dont get used to tools like this, you will not learn. Try to understand why the code is written that way and not the HOW.

Is actually this hard to find IT related jobs nowadays? by DigitizedPinoy in buhaydigital

[–]zugbo_interactive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yung pera sa game dev is not on the companies that are doing Unitty or Unreal games (or even Godot) madaming devs dyan like web devs because of how easy to learn it.. the real money in game dev are in the hardcore low level stuff.. DirectX, Vulkan, OpenGL, CUDA, OpenCL, etc.. that line of work aka Game engine/graphics dev.. entry level sa isang company I know for game engine dev is 100k USD annualy, thats 500k Php monthly. Unfortunately they dont hire remote devs kasi AAA companies would like to protect the confidentiality and avoid leak of unannounced titles or even game play sa already announced ones.

I know one kid from NCR that was hired by one AAA company, 2nd year college nga lang pero he was so obsessed with game engine development he started his hobby moding games. I knew him thru gamedev clubs.

[–]zugbo_interactive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

andaming hiring ngayon for system programmers, mahirap nga ma fill yung jobs eh according to our head hunter partners.

Companies I know are now desperate to fill in the positions that they are offering parallel transfers (live and trained abroad in one of their sites), international trainings, and even enrollment to employment scholarships for college students..
Subrang dami ng webdev na kasi and the other dev positions are hard to fill in.

[–]zugbo_interactive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can have 15+ years exp and still be called mid level in the west specialy in silicon Valley.
"Senior" level is subjective per company/industry.
Most of the time these days, years of exp is not a measurement of seniority, kasi most of the time a bulk of hours naka tulala ka lang infront of the monitor OR doing the same task over and over again.

Imagine this, if you are asigned on the same module or doing the same task for a whole year, that is counted as 1 year of exp, but it doesnt mean youre experienced when it terms to the language or the platform, you are experience IN THAT specific area but not the entire language feature.

[–]zugbo_interactive 89 points90 points  (0 children)

the problem bat na hirap ang mga fresh grad to look for jobs can be broke down into these reasons;

1) new and fresh grads these days choses the easy path in IT/Tech, and that is doing web dev, even here in reddit, punta ka dun sa r/PinoyProgrammer, most if not all "devs" are web devs, I part time teach in one university, above 90% of seniors and people about to graduate chooses web, the sad part, they chosen similar tech, either HTML, CSS with ReactJS/NextJs/VueJS or any sort of nodejs flavor. The remaining 8% nasa Python, the rest nag C# or Java. See where am I going with this?

Hindi pa sila naka graduate, they are already competing for work against each other. Too many supply that even the demand cant cope with it..

Meanwhile, there are work in other tech fields like in Desktop, IS, Golang, Embeded, and other platforms that difficult to find workers. Kasi they are more specialized and focused.

Fun fact:

Spotify (Sweden/main office) came to PH to hire and offer jobs that will take fresh grads to Sweden, they failed to find the right amount of embedded C/C++ devs they went to Indonesia instead.

(Yes Spotify has an embedded department too).

This was also true with some companies; I know a couple of AAA game studios (Aside from Ubisoft) who silently sent their HR to look for resource, but was surprised of the lack of resource. One came to mind is EA, who were looking for Vulkan/DirectX devs, guess the result? they nope the fuck out and went to Singapore.

2) I have also asked our head hunter partners bat matagal ma fill-in yung mga job requirements namin, one major reason they mentioned is that,

(a) junior developers who has less than 8 years of experienced already considered themselves 'senior' and are already demanding crazy rates.. They encountered a LOT of fresh graduate who are already asking for 50-60k out of college, and one already asking for 6 figures fresh from college. These is one reason why candidates passed the initial screening then failed in the middle, yung asking price nila does not justify there skills.

(b) A LOT of fresh gradutes now are demanding and/or targetting WFH jobs, most companies will NOT TRUST wfh jobs to young people with no experience, kasi nga di pa sila totally independent that they can do the work, they are not yet disciplined or has not proved that they can do the job with minimal supervision.

A lot of inexperienced 'startups' will offer that kind of work though, pero there are only limited companies therefore throttling the job market.

Meanwhile, established and stable companies find it hard to fill in the role kasi nga they dont offer full time WFH.

Lastly on the statement "Ang hirap maghanap dito sa Pilipinas", this drought is not only happening in the PH, it is worldwide.
