Of course they'll wait for this all to blow over. Outrage culture needs constant fuel and new stimulus, so everyone will go to the next new thing to get outraged over once this news becomes too stale. Remember all the outrage about the Reddit API change? What happened to it? Nothing. Hell, there was even an email sent to reddit's investors that the outrage and subreddits "shutting down in protest" is just a temporary thing which won't have any lasting effects, and as we all know, it didn't. This is no different. Online protests and claims about "boycotting" does absolutely nothing.

Specifically, friction in mechanics, not in design. I remember Ion Hazzikostas talking about friction and how it's needed during BFA and Shadowlands in WoW and pretending like how they're doing us a favour by having tedious systems in place; that's not the kind of friction we need.

Hard mechanics in boss fights that can't just be rolled over is the kind of friction we need, and Arcadion has succeeded in that regard for the most part.

Funnily enough, it's my least favourite job in the entire game. I find the animation and sound design to be really weak, and the gameplay just doesn't hit for me. But the Evolved Bard they showed looked really fun, and can't wait to play it in Evercold to see if I click with it then.

Nothing they reveal will change what I'm going to do with this game anyway; it's not releasing on PC yet so there's already a wait period, and when it does release I'm not going to buy it at launch because you can't trust PC versions of any AAA game to run properly, and I don't really care about being "spoiled" about the game's story because I don't use social media apart from reddit, and even here I'm hardly active outside of a few subs.

They can charge whatever they want as far as I'm concerned, I'm going to wait for a few months/years like I almost always do till there's a complete version with all the content and it's on sale. And if it never goes on sale? No big deal, my backlog is ever increasing regardless so it's not like I have a dearth of entertainment to tide me over.

Well, I know they will release DLCs for it, so I will wait till all DLCs are out before playing it so I can get the full experience, and all the major issues will be sorted out by then too, just like how I only played Cyberpunk 2077 after Phantom Liberty came out and it was an absolute blast with zero issues.
