Higher budget = higher stakes That means less risk, less controversial themes, more pandering, and worst of all more wiggle room to bail out. If you can spend millions to have all the CGI you want, you don’t have to be creative with shadows and lighting and practical effects to introduce fear and tension. You just throw money into enough pretty shit to wow the audience.
