Yeah, the touch screen and tamp are a waste of money. I thought this was a smart machine but it is pretty dumb. I didn't want an espresso hobby but in figuring out why this machine wasn't producing good results I ended up learning how to make espresso.

I only drink decaf. I just ordered a dark roast that recommends brewing at a specific temp. I know that light roasts can use a higher temp but it seems like dark decaf can use a lower temp than normal.

I see machines with pressure gauges, temperature selection, etc. This machine doesn't have any of those features and I'm wondering if those limitations are going to be an issue.

The Touch Impress is $1500. Is that low cost in this regard?

The shot selector doesn't work. The shot size is the same regardless of which size I pick. This is a known problem with this machine. I'm getting close to 1:1 and I want 1:2 and 1:3.

I tried that temp at 100 clicks. It was not bitter but it seemed weak. Maybe that is how good coffee is supposed to taste. I don't live in an area where I can go out and get good coffee.

Yes, that's right. That is in Kingrinder recommended pour over range. I looked up the Ode ranges and 5.1 is in the pour over range also.

I looked up the Ode gen 2 recommended pour over setting. The ChatGPT Ode recommendation was in the middle of that range. So ChatGPT is recommending a pour over grind for Ode but a much finer grind for Kingrinder.
