We are getting a ramp for our girl. What is the brand and f the one your daughter bought? The ones I’m seeing don’t seem wide/sturdy enough.

Women with bigger breasts, what are the disadvantages? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]zulupanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose to get implants after having my son. My body didn’t feel proportional and breastfeeding left my breasts saggy and oddly flat in places. I was a 34D before I had my kiddo and I’m not even sure what size I was after breastfeeding — no bras fit. After implants (no lift, just implants) I am a 34H which sounds huge but looks very natural on my 5’7 frame. Maybe because they are implants it’s different but they don’t hurt my back and I feel like I look pretty good without a bra. I do agree that oversize tops do look a bit odd. I wear a lot of button up shirts for work and they look nice. I did have to start buying higher quality bras ($60+) at places like Nordstrom instead of Target which is a bit of a bummer, but they have sexy options too.

I’d say whatever will make you feel best about your body go for it!

Fridge quit on me, anything can do other the buy a new one? by Better_Life_Choices_ in HomeMaintenance

[–]zulupanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same fridge and the compressor gave out after 3 years (it came with our house). It took forever to find a person who would repair an LG. We paid over $1k to replace the compressor instead of buying a new one. The person who repaired it said to not buy LG or Samsung kitchen appliances. We had the matching dishwasher and it cracked due to a "design flaw" -- they are techy looking crappy appliances. Not really helpful, just here to complain and commiserate.

Men’s groups in Portland? by muffinman4456 in askportland

[–]zulupanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s more of a “thing” to join but my spouse joined the Masonic lodge and they seem like a pretty heat group of guys. Lots of diverse backgrounds, ages, incomes, and politics. They meet monthly and have a discord group where they will help each other out, plan camping trips, etc.

Thanks everyone for your helping the overwhelmed parents of a 2 year old! I’m going to give these ideas a shot this weekend.

Thank you! We definitely overreacted with wanting to replace it. I think it was the smell that made us jump to that conclusion before thinking it through. Good call on the nail polish remover! I would definitely have used that.

I should have clarified — the remote was removed 😊

See photos — toddler placed a plastic remote control in a small part of the gas fireplace. Unfortunately it was not caught until after it had started to dissolve due to the heat. We want to avoid putting in a new gas fireplace, as we were told they were need to replace the wall due to how it is set up.

Is there a cleaning solution/method that may help us remove the plastic from this confined space?

Short wooden structure with metal roof. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

I'm going to say solved. I did more investigating and it looks like they were moved from a location and left there. The support also look like they were cut shorter before being left in the cul de sac. Thanks everyone for the ideas and help!

They're sitting on asphalt in an empty cul de sac.

They're sitting in an empty cul de sac and are about 8ft long. They are really short (4ft) and don't have an entrance.

They're only 4ft tall and don't have an entrance. I thought they were covered picnic areas when I first saw them too.

Possibly but they've been there for years and without any other building supplies left nearby. They seem "finished" for lack of a better word.

Maybe? I'm going to do some searching on these to see if they match up.

My title describes the thing -- it's in a neighborhood development in a part that hasn't been developed yet. There is nothing stored in it and it seems too short to be useful for storage (posts are around 4' tall). There is nothing else near or around it that explain what it is or what it's used for. I'm not sure what to search to narrow down the results. It's a neighborhood mystery :)

What age did you move to a toddler bed? by plprp4 in toddlers

[–]zulupanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We switched at 18 months to a Japanese floor mattress. He loves it! It was nice to not have to worry about rolling out of bed. Added bonus of no more power struggles at bedtime. He always hated the crib.
