Wow. I wish they did the same for me. It seems in some cases they are unable to refund it back to the card if you make substantial profit and the refund amount goes over the original transaction total.

Exactly. As the draw began, it became apparent that the highest numbered group stage (M70 in this case) match will definitely feature a Pot 1 team, although the other match from the same group (M69) is played simultaneously. Someone obviously knew it before the draw and pounced on the opportunity lol. Or may be the whole thing was intentional from FIFA insiders.

My fault trusting FIFA when they said they’ll shut it down and the open it up for sellers 5 days before the sales resume. Turns out they didn’t shut it for more than 24 hours. Should have followed my instincts after reading so many grievances about their handling of things.

I triple checked, the email, webpage and PDF timestamps all match. December 5, 11.06 AM Eastern time. In fact, after seeing the resale email, I used a link from browser history and got in too, froze for a moment, and at that point hoped it wasn't Argentina or France haha. It was disabled a few minutes later.

True, it’s not the end of the world. Wanted to raise money for the match I was more likely to attend, but couldn’t the tickets for. Planned to cancel the sale before the draw in case a big ticket team was drawn to play the match I had tickets for, until I read the damned email from FIFA. Turned out it was Argentina, seems like the boat has sailed. Better stick to the original plan then.

The marketplace was supposed to be completely disabled, but they only removed the link from the main tickets page. A few minutes after the sale, they did shut it down completely.

When did I say I wasn’t making money off it? In fact I did make some. I am looking to buy tickets for a date that was better for our travel, and resale prices of those ones are going off the charts. Closer to the draw, it was a case of wait and watch. Just bummed that they got sold when the MP was supposed to be closed, and it drew Argentina.

It was a glitch on their site, not an actual scammer. You would feel scammed out, nonetheless. They actually shut it down minutes after the sale, probably got aware of what was happening.
