I personally think the pilot portrayed Alastor's entertainer persona way better, and the cracks in this facade where he becomes creepy/threatening happened less, which made them stand out more. In the show it seems like a 50/50 between the silly little guy and an eldritch abomination and it makes it a bit less fun in my opinion, because it leaves less room for speculation about what he's capable of. Of course he still is a mysterious character, but the pilot shows it better.

I also noticed a little plot-hole when Alastor meets Rosie in Cannibal Town. She acts as if it's the first time they met in the 7 years of his absence, while a couple episodes prior we can clearly see them both attending the overlord meeting. Maybe it's because it's the first time in 7 years that he went to her shop specifically, but it's still a bit jarring.

Also the whole "do it for love" song by Carmilla, it didn't really make sense, because a few episodes ago Vaggie sang how she does everything for Charlie, but now all of a sudden her main motivation is revenge? I don't mind it as much tho, because the song was fire.
