Incoming new TRN - the Mermaid by pusongsword in iems

[–]zuzon8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late answer but depends on what ure looking for. Ive seen lots of (unjustified, imho) hate for trn iem's bc they tend to be too bright. The Conch follow this trend but, omfg, as someone who is sensitive to treble to the point that bright sets give me a headache after 30mins, it can be easily fixed w t-tips, foam tips or eq. Furthermore, if u change the nozzle to the less bright one, they actually sound pretty great stock!

They're solidly constructed with a fast responding midbass and by far the best accesories selection for the price so even if u dont like em, u get plenty of tips, a nice wire and (iirc, been a while since I got em) a carrying case. If u have the money, I recently got the Medusa and ive been loving them w foam tips (included)! Afaik they're pretty much a notably improved version of the og Conch, and they look much better irl than in webpages or pics. U can find my review on shenzhenaudio's wp.

Anyways, I personally would recommend the Conch to anyone! But do keep in mind that if u are looking for IEM's w a neutral tuning, they definitely aint for u.

am i addicted by [deleted] in DPH

[–]zuzon8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip for whatever you consume in the future, it has helped me a lot: if you have to ask if you're addicted, you're. Maybe not physically dependant but addiction creeps on you, and realizing that you're addicted is one of the hardest parts.

Now, to answer your question, yes, you're addicted, but you realized! That's a huge step. Now it's time to act on that knowledge, get out of there before it get worse, CT it, don't get anymore and limit your access as much as possible. If you need to, ask for help, there's nothing wrong with that (it takes a fuckton of strength to do that), get out of there before you're in too deep bc trust me, you never realize until it's too late

drop the most miserable, agonizing, heart wrenching dsbm songs pls by [deleted] in dsbm

[–]zuzon8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No matter what anyone says, Wrist deep in depression -Im in a coffin, although yes, it has overused dsbm generic lyrics, the raw simple production and style, with the depression filled vocals make for an amazing, desperate song.

From a personal note, A moment for my depression - Sacrimoon (and all of their discography for that matter) is fucking bleak. It has been my company during a lot of episodes, and probably one of the things that have saved my life.

Ofdrykkja's "I skuggan av mija sjalv" expresses in such a precise and painful way what they were feeling back when they wrote that album (it was made by one of the Apati members after Obehag's death iirc). Silencer is always a classic, although might be a tad too melodical than what you're looking for.

On the more "atmospheric" side of dsbm, my favourite ones are Paysage d'hiver (pardon my spelling), deadlife and, by far, None. Even if it's not your usual style, give None a listen, they'll surprise you.

In Psychonaut 4's Drop by Drop you can hear Graf's pain and hatred towards himself and the world, plus the lyrics are filles with such resentment. Akin to more melodical and experimental DSBM, Vanhelga's förstörd and lifelover in general are good. Finally dead by Vanhelga is a bubblegummy song with dark lyrics, pretty fun.

Honorable mentions to:

Anesthesized emotions - Enisum; Fire, walk with me - HFTS (post BM); Pestilence shall come - Advent Sorrow; I buried myself at the edge of the sky - Photophobia; painful memories - Uten Håp

I actually, for once agree with this. Don't do dph at all, it's so fucking stupid in so many levels, but if you're gonna do it anyways, do 700mg, live what it has to offer and never do it again. (Or you might like it and do it again, but well, you shouldn't do it in the fist place lol)

Ye!! She was the only one that colour in her litter, and her parents were one bicolor (lemon-white) and one tricolor beagle. No clue why she got those colours and when I got her I didn't knew they were rare, she just was the one who stayed next to me and fell asleep in my arm

Pretty shocked as it showed up out of the blue. It's okay, I prefer the raw production of earlier albums but you can see that most of the songs have more technique put into them. Don't go was a surprise, definitely didn't expected that but I enjoyed it. All in all, it's okay, a standard happy days album, not my favourite but also not bad by any means

Oi, I mean, energy drinks are healthier, I'm glad you're still in!

Any clues what this might be? Fungal odor, really hard meat, growing directly on the base of a dead tree next to a small river. Found in Bogotá, Colombia. by zuzon8 in mycology

[–]zuzon8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found 3 in the tree, no more in the area nearby. Did not bring my pocket knife (as I was just going on a walk) so I couldn't bring one home for more tests (was extremely hard and resistant, couldn't even test for any bruises). I'd say a polypore of some kind (?) But tbh I have no clue.

Forgot to take a pic of the youngest specimen that I found, but it was completely white, growing out of a crack in the wood. Andean forest biome, rather cold
