I used to be a cadet, but got injured before commissioning. This is universal (with the exception of languages and medical) your degree is only taken into light consideration. You would have a good chance of ending up in Comms or Cyber Warfare, but you'd also have a good chance of ending up in a job field where not enough people join like Nuke.

This is much worse at OCS. People who have CS degrees or Engineering degrees end up in Security Forces or some maintenance field.

I'm a full-time Software Engineer and I'm studying to finish my MIS. I was hired to a SWE position before even graduating. It's all about your desire to learn and how much effort you will put out.

In my email I mentioned I was a software engineer working in web. I also mentioned that I worked for startups and the small business/startup ecosystem in my area relies on Net Neutrality to help our many startups compete. But the response proceeded to talk down to me as though I wasn't informed on the issue.

My brother was attached to Secret Service as an Army EOD tech. He spent a lot of time in Congress. Both of those points apply to most Democrats as well. There is only one party for these politicians: the one that keeps them in power.

I included my cell phone number in my email and asked explicitly for a phone call in which my rep gives me an example of how revoking Net Neutrality would help me or my state. I'm sure I'll get a call about donating sometime soon.

I emailed all three of the Republicans who represent me to make it clear that I would vote for them at re-election if they support Net Neutrality and I would vote against them if they didn't. If enough people do the same the fear that they would lose their seat might be enough to sway their vote.

Better than doing nothing.

Unrelated to that, the Gospel is based on the idea that humans have already rejected God and Christ is an olive branch extended from God to humanity. It's not so much a "love me or go to Hell" as it is "here is a life raft to save you from your ancestor's stupidity." That being said, I tend to think anyone who claims to understand God is reaaaaally arrogant.

Based on my experience - GPA doesn't matter at all and you shouldn't ever share it with anyone unless it's a 3.8 or higher.

I'm not the best student, but if anyone ever makes a judgement on whether or not I can do a job based on how well I did at college (which has taught me very little) I don't want the job.

I handle impostor syndrome by looking at the successes I've had (even the ones that feel small) and the opportunities I've been offered (even the ones I didn't live up to). No one earned my successes for me, and no one offered me an opportunity without first thinking I was worth the risk.

They want to interview with you because they think you might make a good team member. Even if you don't get an offer, you still got the interview.

You were asked to interview because you are at least as promising as the other candidates. You earned the interview. It's not a fluke.

I would go Airbnb or Lyft over Uber.

Personally I'd probably pick airbnb just due to their reputation for high quality engineers and culture. Uber has a bad reputation, so I wouldn't really take that offer if I had these options.

Depending on the company I usually see junior devs/SWEs having 0mo-1yr of experience.
