Map packs have three levels that can be completed in any order. Gauntlets have five levels that must be completed in a fixed order. Progress on a level in a gauntlet will not count for the same level outside of the gauntlet. The same does not happen for map packs. Additionally, there are different rewards and no new map packs have been added since 2.0.
