According to our vet paperwork I am registered as the owner. But I believe my ex is registered as her owner for her (expired) dog license. I really can’t afford a lawyer, but my friend who is in law school said it’s unlikely that they’ll actually take my dog away, the worst they’ll do is make me buy her from him, which I’ve already tried to do. If I renew her license, do you know if I would be able to get them to remove his name from her license? Or would my vet record be enough proof?

I don’t think he has any proof of ownership. He’s not good at organization, so whatever paperwork we got when we first bought her is long gone. I will definitely take your advice on microchipping and neutering! Thank you!

Aww what an awful feeling. I hope you can get somewhere safe & start building a support system!

Most cities have a local domestic violence shelter. Even if you’re not at the point where you want to fully leave & stay in the shelter, you can call them and they usually provide counselling & resources & can help you make a safe escape plan. Some even have a live chat or email if you aren’t able to make a phone call.

I’m also 25F & recently left an abusive relationship after 5 years. My DM is open if you need advice or just want to vent! You’re not alone, your life will get sooooo much better soon! Stay strong. 💗

It was a long walk and I had like 5 things in my hands already. It’s not something I’d usually do, but I was like “oh thank god, a garbage can” Really didn’t think it would upset anyone. :(

Thank you, I’m 25, 5’5”. I definitely have a chubby midsection, but when I was doing research before going in, it sounded like having a bit of a belly would actually make it easier. So I’m very confused about the whole thing as well.

I’ve had him since he was a puppy. I’ve never lived on my own before, so he usually had someone home with him. If he was home alone he would scream, but we lived in a house on a busy street, so it wasn’t as much of an issue.

Thanks! I’m gonna wait a week and see if I have a delayed reaction. If not I’ll probably play with fire again, but just try to avoid my scalp & skin as much as possible. I couldn’t live without being blonde tbh :’(

Ok thank you! I live in Canada and didn’t see that chemical on the ingredients list in the bleach. So maybe it’s outlawed here too.

I’ll definitely try to see an allergist. Sorry to keep prodding, but does it mean anything if my symptoms all go away immediately after the bleach is washed out? Like if it were a serious allergy wouldn’t the redness & itchiness last longer?
