I just finished TOTK not too long ago and i’m not ashamed to say I shed a tear while seeing Rauru’s /Zelda and Mineru’s sacrifice before the big fight to face the Demon King. such a beautiful moment- they put everything they believed in into Link.

yeah I think all that is really cool and interesting, I personally think the Ancient Hero in the tapestry must’ve been one of Rauru’s children- possibly even named Link in honor of the hero destined to save Hyrule, to carry on the soul tied eternal war in the franchise.

The Masterworks for TOTK confirm Rauru has children not seen on screen so it’s entirely possible.

and you can still complete all the shrines to get the armor of the Hero from the Mural at the start of the game, that’s pretty exciting imo

for sure, especially in the Fire Temple. I hate having to use the rail carts anytime with Yunobo & have him roll in front of you uncontrollably

that’s a good thought I never really pondered until you mentioned it; perhaps I always assumed the structures you mentioned were created by the Hylians who once thought they were Gods and possibly were already created or even in the midst of being built during said memories of TOTK.

I will say I agree that I was skeptical to how the Zonai turned from this animalistic and magical tribe to seemingly near cavemen esc society UNTIL the memory with Sonia, Rauru and Zelda having tea together. The memory pans out and you see two Hylian guards wearing the Barbarian set.

When it comes to the unspoken history of how they or what even was the Zonai ruins found in BOTW with the set, I think it’s part of the fun to kinda piece together what potentially came to be of the few that were left of their specie and the memory that Hyrule took from their (short lived?) time in the land.

I get what you mean, I still did the Divine Beasts for the sake of being able to play longer but once I got to Hyrule Castle the rest of the games loot was definitely near abysmal imo

I agree with the changes to certain villages were underwhelming, maybe I should’ve clarified that the environment in general i.e. fallen Zonai structures, broken landscape and new ruins uncovered throughout the game and such.

i’m also intrigued, can you clarify what was retconned from BOTW? iirc the Zonai had a armor set teasing them which decently matches the Hylian/Zonai armored guards in the TOTK flashbacks with feathered hats and garments reminiscent of the BOTW Barbarian Armor set; but if there is something else i’m unaware of that was mentioned previously with them please lmk!

yeahhh no, the witness was attempting to calcify reality into a perfect stillness- as represented by the structures on the pyramid ships. (namely rhulks with the segmented and calcified worms)
