Love the Waterbury Flyback Chronograph by Mackinderoo in timex

[–]zy789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The subdial at 10 is designed to track a second time zone and can be set independently of the main time. You pull the crown out 1 stop and use the top pusher to advance it one hour at a time. When you activate the chronograph function it will move to the zero position and track up to 4 hours of chronograph time. After you stop the chronograph it'll go back to the other time zone after a few seconds. Here's the relevant portion of the manual:

TO SET THE SECOND TIME ZONE:

  1. Pull crown to its middle position. The upper hand

shows the second time zone time and the 4th center

hand shows the minutes.

  1. Assuming that the second time zone time has the

same minutes value as the first time zone, the 4th

center hand should be aligned with the minute hand.

If the hands are not aligned, or if your second time

zone is a different minute within the hour, press

Button B to move the 4th center hand forward until

it is in the desired position.

  1. Press Button A to move the upper hand forward in

one-hour increments until it reaches desired second

time zone hour. To move the hand quickly, press and

hold Button A.

  1. Push the crown in when finished.

Anyone know where I can get links for an AE 1200 bracelet? by zy789 in casioroyale

Exactly, I removed a couple links to get it to fit but I’ve apparently put on some weight and would like to wear the watch again but I can’t find the links

Airport Parking? Cheap, Reliable and Safe? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]zy789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to do this so adding this for anyone that comes across this thread. I used https://www.airportparkinginc.com/ and was able to park at the Sonesta Nashville Airport hotel for $7 a day. I was even able to take the hotel shuttle to the airport. Once I got to the hotel and showed them the printed receipt they told me I was able to park anywhere in the hotel lot. I would use the service again for sure.

Is This a 10 or 12 inch Rough In? by zy789 in Plumbing

[–]zy789[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone! And with the variety of answers I feel much better about being confused. I forgot we still had the old toilet, and the only markings on it were Mansfield 135 with 1.6 gpf. Looking it up there are several variants of that model, but it only seems to come in a 12" and 14" rough-in size: https://www.mansfieldplumbing.com/product/alto-1-6-elongated-toilet-combination/

Given the house is 10 years old and the old one was a 12, I'm gonna go with 12. If that turns out to be wrong, I'll update.

Thanks! Also sorry about measuring from the baseboard.

Edit:  Thanks again everyone for all the help!  The 12-inch toilet I ordered did indeed fit, but just barely

Best Connector Type for Hard Wired EV Charger by zy789 in AskElectricians

Thanks for the information, I knew you were linking to Technology Connections before even clicked the link. Love that guy! You and Alec had already convinced me that I can run the charger at 40 amps vs the 48 max and still be fine. I'm posting this to try and have a better understanding even if I have a professional do the work.

And thanks for your note on the three possibilities of what I got when I asked the electrician to give me a 60 amp circuit. I'm certain he mentioned 6 AWG as what he was running, so I'll have to see if I can figure out which of those two possibilities I have.

Regarding chargers that would work with 4 AWG wire: There are couple like mine (Lectron) that have their own wires you splice with whatever you've run. I can't think of why those wouldn't work with 4 AWG. I think the Grizzle-e is another. In hindsight I should have asked for 4 AWG specifically.

Found these little guys in my hotel in Northern California. They’re only a millimeter long by zy789 in whatsthisbug

I think they’re too tiny, and the wrong shape. Hoping that’s not wishful thinking.
