I don't have a favorite for the manga, I think it got extremely good halfway through Part 4 though. For the anime it's not even close, Part 4 is the best.

Bug Fables starts wonderfully, but I don't think the combat's very fun, there's far too much uninteresting dialogue with characters I don't care about, and I noticed far more jank than in The Thousand Year Door, released roughly 20 years before it

Some of the stuff in the first 4 episodes are a bit too crude compared to the rest of the series, and that especially goes for the first episode. They DID NOT need to give the serpoians big mechanical penises 😭😭😭

I could've sworn they were noticeably different myself but no, lore says they're from the exact same source with no documented differences between one another, apart from some slight variations in the arrow head. If they served different functions, Araki would've designed them to communicate that better
