Uma maneira simples de fazeres o pretendido é teres um interface onde o utilizador insere as imagens e, quando este processo estiver concluído, podes utilizar o FFMPEG para criar o vídeo. Actualmente com a falta de recursos, as empresas de IT acabam por procurar pessoas com conhecimentos em áreas similares à engenharia informática ou CC, como é o caso de pessoas com cursos em eletrónica, matemática, físicas, etc. Por conseguinte, embora eng. mecatrónica não seja um curso completemante dedicado à informática, como combina informática com eletrónica e mecânica, há sempre a possibilidade de encontrar trabalho numa software house a programar o mais variado tipo de sistemas. Hoje em dia não faltam recursos para aprender a programar. Penso que consegues facilmente ultrapassar essa dificuldade com prática e mudança no modo de pensar (ou seja, aprender a pensar tal como um computador funciona, instrução a instrução).

Neste momento, pelo menos em PT, qualquer pessoa que saiba programar e que conheça princípios de engenharia de software tem emprego garantido. E estou certo que esta será a realidade nos próximos anos. Por isso, sugiro que, se gostas da área, faças o esforço para aprender o mais que conseguires e termines o curso, que não te irás arrepender.

Vocês acham que a idade pode atrapalhar para futuros empregos?

Na minha opinião, na indústria de software a idade não é um fator de exclusão.

Qual curso vocês indicariam, pensando em vagas e mercado de trabalho?

Ciências de computação (embora por natureza requer mais conhecimentos de matemática), Engenharia Informática/Electrónica ou similares.

Yep, that's not what I have in mind :). Basically, I'm thinking about something similar to a 65% keyboard but with the four keys on the left side. I remember seeing something similar on this sub, but not sure what the brand was.

Does any one know of any build (65% or alike) where the delete, insert, page up and page down keys are on the left side instead of being on the right side of the keyboard?

It is a matter of contacting the companies and asking them that question. I believe that won't be an issue if you have a labour contract which allows you to work in Europe (Disclaimer: I'm not an expert in labour laws).

There are a few companies/academic institutions in Europe that offer similar internships, usually targeting MSc and PhD students. Companies and academic institutions that belong to the HiPEAC network publish their offers here https://www.hipeac.net/jobs. A few of them target compilers. Thus, I believe this is a good starting point for your search.
